My bust is over 40”; i fit in s/m tops bc i have small shoulders n ribcage measures 32”. So the list measurements would insist i am an xl or more, which i am not. LOL so if it laying flat is 17-18” across, i know it fits me. Same w my hips, i am 44” n 34” waist but wear between 8 and 10 in bottoms. I have learned this lesson buying online for years now. Such a bugger to figure these out.

@lbrobeck different brands run differently. Some run big, some - small. I’d recommend getting Large, because the dress has some stretch. Plus, XL isn’t available right now. It doesn’t mean you are a true L-XL, it only means that in this brand that’s what fits you best.
