Selling fake makeup can have HUGE and HARMFUL effects in people. The following pictures are sellers on Poshmark. These people say it was a gift or that their items are “good replicas” when we shouldn’t be selling ANY replicas.
1. BLOCK 2.COMMENT 3. REPORT IN THAT ORDER or they can block you and stop you from viewing their closet and harass you. Most have 1 pic per item but when they post more photos they always gets caught but still sell them.

Do not believe everything is authentic just because they say so themselves!!
If a posher refuses to post more that 1 photo it’s probably fake
If a posher post more than 1 pay attention to the back AND front of the pallets!! They can be FAKE because of the font, colors out of original order, can say “Kylie Henner” or “Kyli Jener”
If price is “too good to be true” it’s probably is
You can find cheap and authentic makeup in other closets!

sometimes i wish poshmark didn't allow makeup to be sold. its just way too dangerous and you never know what you'll get. even if its not fake u never know what someone could put in something or what pathogens could accidently be transferred.

@emilydaehtop although I do agree with the last part, I think they should have Verified sellers or just fix the report system. Some of the accounts have been reported for over 2 years and they are still not shut down. It’s very upsetting.

@lex7808 oh i know, their customer support is possible. i stopped selling certain items bc i was tired of how posh handled disputes when it was clear the buyer was just trying to mooch the system. smfh

@emilydaehtop the important thing however, is to always report these people!! I don’t want to have people think Poshmark is for fakes, all we can do is comment and report!! Even on people who say they are Posh ambassadors like @ melaniekayy22 who’s products/product sells images I’ve used. It’s all about letting them know they can’t sell that here

@mommalis I hadn’t seen that up until melaniekayy22 I emailed Posh about her and they said they would investigate her closet. But I hadn’t seen Posh ambassadors sell fakes before. It’s very saddening!

@lex7808 what pisses me off the most is that if you prove an item is counterfeit for a return, that closet should be shit down IMMEDIATELY, but no, they’re allowed to turn around and sell that crap to someone else. Poshmark literally ONLY cares about making their 20% and it makes me furious!!!

All I said was “very interested, is it new or used?” And she deleted it. But she’s got 4 others listings of USED underwear. I know it’s not makeup but that’s just gross. Please report the items.

I ended up buying a fake Jeffree Star palette without realizing it until I got it today, I guess I should have looked at the pictures more closely when buying. Didn't think Posh Ambassadors would be selling fake makeup though but I guess some of them can't be trusted either. She had two other ones that she ended up selling also. The seller tried to play it off as her getting them as a gift set when I opened a case. Not sure if her few other makeup items are fake but her name is @ ginamarina74

@resendetra I’ll look into it! Sorry this happened to you, but you can learn from this experience; I too didn’t think Posh Ambassadors could sell fakes, made me so mad when I found out! Did you contact Posh about this issue?

@lex7808 I opened a case to get my money back and Posh replied not long after the seller said she got the palette as part of a gift set. Posh issued a return label right away. Not sure what else I can do. I also contacted one of the other people that bought a palette from that seller after I did and she was very glad I told her. I just wish Posh would be strict about this because fake makeup is dangerous. At least I know what I'm looking for now when it comes to fakes.

@resendetra well it’s good that you’re getting your money back. Hopefully the other seller does the same you did and contacts Posh about it, and I agree, Posh isn’t too strict on the no counterfeit items. I’ve reported so many listing from last year that haven’t been removed and some have even been bought! It makes me very upset at Posh.

@mommalis yeah, at first I thought it was just the system. Like they don’t have enough people checking the reported listing, but after been here for more than 2 yeas, I’ve come to realize they don’t give a 💩 they just want to do business with you to get money from you.
They are however good at giving out strikes for “misbehaving” I have one for reporting and commenting on 3 listings. So it’s not that they aren’t paying attention, they’re just paying attention to what’s convenient for them.

@savayvay210 hello!! It’s a little hard to tell considering she doesn’t post many pictures of the actual product, instead she post stock images. What I would recommend you do when you revive the Kylie lip kit you’ve bought is to check for the code in the lipliner and liquid lipstick. You can find an example of it in my “KKWXKYLIE crème liquid lipstick” post here on Posh.

@savayvay210 Also, I would ask them to post a picture of the product before buying it. Sometimes if it’s fake you can tell right away when looking at the pictures. But with my experience, most of the time people who doesn’t post the actual product pictures tend to be the people who sell fakes.

@laurabeth982 hey hun! I went to her page and looked at urban Decay pallets but sadly I can’t tell you much. She only has stock photos of the item, I typically stay away from people like that. However, you can check when it gets to you. Fist off but checking if the Serial Number on the pallet and box match. If they don’t that’s a big tell it might not be. You can also request to return and not accept the order if you have suspicion it could be fake 😁 sorry if it’s not much help!

@lex7808 Thank you for your quick reply! Sadly, I already tossed the box awhile ago. I just finished watching the Netflix show, Broken, the first episode about counterfeit cosmetics leaving me worried about my Poshmark purchase. I just assumed Poshmark reviewed each item for sale for authenticity.

@laurabeth982 sadly Posh does not authenticate on makeup products or anything under $500. I would try to patch some shadows on my arm and see if you have some type of allergic reaction to the product. It’s also important to ask people to post the actual products. Remember ANYONE can become a “Poshmark Ambassador” if they “meet” the guide lines. A lot of the time people assume that anyone that’s an ambassador is authentic, that’s not always true.
