bopsmom1 I try to reuse clean packaging and plastic that comes into my house. It’s not gorgeous, but it’s always secure. I use dry cleaning bags to line boxes, packing peanuts, misc cardboard etc. If a purchase comes in a zipper pouch (pillow cases etc.) I use that for posh.

bopsmom1 @forgetmenotvin I’ve gotten pretty creative with my packing materials. I keep the tissue that stores use to wrap purchases, cute store bags etc. Shredded paper is a good idea, as long as it’s not bank statements etc. Lightbulb! I could scrunch up pages from various store catalogs that we get at home.

diamondpunk I’m so glad you made this post... I want to do the same thing or make a post suggesting reuse and recycling of materials but I wasn’t sure how it would go over with buyers. I did have one up a while ago but idk for some reason I felt weird about it🤦🏻‍♀️I’m glad I’m not the only one. Good for you🌻

purpletigerco @diamondpunk thanks so much ! I put it up so people wouldn’t be disappointed when they open there package and it’s very simple. I think the response has been pretty good over all 🙂 and I think more and more people are becoming aware of the importance of less waste .

dajco Great !!! I have ended up writing a thank you note letting my customers of my minimalist packaging on the second half of the sheet of paper the mailing label was printed. But to be honest I feel strange doing so when there’s so much importance being attached to note cards, Ribbon, etc....even stores don’t do that much. 🛍📦📬

purpletigerco @distressedbeaut I just don’t use extra plastics or add things to the package like stickers or extra papers or packaging. Just a simple little note on recycled card stock .

superbasic Yes 🙌🏽 I’m new to poshmark & I’ve been recycling my materials & when I print out my shipping label I use the rest of the paper for my Thank you note! I don’t use Poly mailers even though they are cute cute cute I don’t find them very environmentally friendly. But if I do need to keep my items secured I will use a recycled ziplock bag that a business use to pack your items since plastic shopping bags are banned in Hawaii. Then hopefully that buyer will be able to reuse that bag as well 😊

pdbyday Great posts! I reuse brown paper packing materials I receive, mostly from Thrive Market, all paper based so it is recyclable. I do put items in a plastic bag because some boxes may sit out on the rain before pick-up. I save and reuse plastic bags. I want the box to be full, nothing shaking around, so that it won't get smashed during shipping. I have received two PM shipments with holes in the boxes and I could see items loose inside, no wrapping, not good!

homeopathicmama so happy you have mentioned this. I got a bad review for reusing another package 📦 box. I wrapped the item in tissue paper and even left a note but some people don't appreciate the impact. thank you for Sharing and relating. I try to use all usps packages but some items don't fit and sometimes I may not have access so with that said I'm more than okay with eco friendly alternatives. I even like using tissue paper from New shoes as cushion in packaging. paper is great! so many options.
