charlink @alissavachula you’re asking how long it takes for the posh authenticate team to pass through the process after you sent them the bag? It mostly takes about 2-3 days for them to do that from the moment they receive it, inform you it’s authentic and send the bag along to the buyer!

charlink @alissavachula oh, normally they only take down bags that are not authentic... are you sure of the authenticity? They sometimes also take down authentic ones by mistake, in that case you’ll have to send them an e-mail to appeal and then it should take them a couple of days to look at it and reply! If it’s authentic they should put the listing back up after they’ve approved the appeal...

charlink @alissavachula feel free to tag me I can always have a look 😉 They sometimes make mistakes and I’ve had authentic bags over mine taken down that later succesfully pass through authentication. Their whole system for reporting depens on random people’s judgement so really doesn’t work very well in a lot of cases 🙄🙄

charlink @alissavachula yeah that’s something automatic though and can be triggered by other things like if you put it at a price below $500... normally it gives you an option to ‘certify’ the listing yourself where you just confirm it’s authentic and then you should be able to post! If that doesn’t work I’m afraid you’ll have to contact posh...

charlink @alissavachula so yeah it gets triggered because of the price. Try seeying if you can actually click on ‘certify’ and if it then gets listed under Chanel, you can also try now changing the brand. If all this wouldn’t work then it’s best to contact poshmark!

charlink @kingmheather almost half of Chanel bags that sell +$500 are fake but sellers don’t realize themselves. All those bags will get rejected by posh authenticate and the sale gets cancelled. Posh authenticate is very reliable! As a buyer you’ll get a refund eventually so you’re safe +$500, it’s just annoying because it happens a lot, if you don’t buy from a trusted seller, that the bag is fake...

Many people buy elsewhere, thinking it’s real and they got a great deal, then they try to resell on posh. They only realize the bag is fake after it’s rejected by posh authenticate!

charlink @kingmheather you can assume that anything below $500 is fake, definitely if you’re looking at bags in good condition. If you’re looking for anything like a flap bag or boy bag, anything in good condition for a low price is either fake or they are scammers with stolen pictures that try to get you to go off of the platform... too good to be true is always fake or scam! be safe! ❣️

charlink @mera0897 posh only checks authenticity AFTER something sells. Meaning people can post wathever they want on here and say it’s real when it’s not. It’s only after something sells above $500 and the seller sends it to posh HQ for authentication, that posh will see it’s a fake and will cancel the sale!

missdpagan @mera0897 Yeap just like the posher said before me. It’s only after it’s sold for over $500 that posh authenticates it. However, if it’s under $500 they don’t authenticate and that’s when you run into big problems because the scammer would delete his/her account in hopes the sale just goes through and would then make another account. Another way to get scammed is by buying outside of posh.

charlink @rubi_na not that I know of. Everybody can make mistakes but I think that chance is VERY small. Especially for well known brands like Chanel, authenticators receive a very thourough training!

tiffanywood1 I saw a teal Chanel bag from myfabthings today and they have the serial number blocked out. I asked the seller about it and they said they block it out because of scammers and counterfeit and a lot of other sellers block out the serial numbers as well. Which I have never seen This is crazy to me because for $5,000 I would want to research the bag and make sure it’s authentic I guess they didn’t like that response and blocked me from commenting anymore 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m sorry but I don’t no much about Burberry… If you’re not able to authenticate it yourself, ir absolutely trust the seller, I’d be very carefull buying under $500 because there are so many fakes and scams on poshmark - definitely don’t buy below $500 from an account with no history and/or only 1 listing, those are mostly scams

missdpagan @brittzus yes but a lot of people try to go off poshmark and there’s people who will waste your time selling you a fake knowing it’s fake and have your money tied up for over a week. So it’s best to educate yourself to try to avoid the many scams on posh.

charlink @andreaebling_ if it’s passing through authentication, you will be issued a refund once posh deems it fake - there’s a lot of people on here selling fake bags, knowlingly or unknowlingly (above and below $500) so it’s a very common thing. You will definitely get your money back if it’s fake

bamanewb I may have missed it but has anyone asked what you should do of youbahve purchased a fake on Poshmark? mine was $450 so just under the $500 needed for authentication. It uses the serial # that most fakes do (lesson learned) Anything I can do to get reimbursed?

charlink @bamanewb within 3 days from the item arriving you have to mark it as ‘not described’, reason ‘counterfeit within the poshmark app. You can add some pictures and text on why you think it’s fake. Posh will have it reviewed by its authenticators, you’ll have to sent the item back to the seller and will get a refund - do it within the 3 day acceptance window though, otherwise it’s much harder to get your money back
