Please I know it’s hard coming up with thousands for a designer item. I don’t come from money myself, but I save for my designer items & it’s worth the wait! THESE REPLICAS ARE GARBAGE! There is no comparison! Up-cycled buttons GREAT! They’re authentic & affordable but please don’t waste your hard earned money! I care about you guys. Doesn’t look like Posh is protecting anyone anymore. We have to look out for each other.

love this post!! totally agree on supporting only authentic items ♥
mynahshine
@piyanut the most upsetting thing is, I know Poshmark authenticated at least 2 bags & quite a bit of jewelry that isn’t authentic.
piyanut
@mynahshine Poshmark should take it more seriously and hire someone who is more professional to do the job. I feel bad for people who spent over $500 of their hard earn money on items and still get a fake one. I heard the story where some item failed the authentication process and was sent back to the seller. The seller then list it up again on Poshmark for less than $500 and didn't inform the buyer that it is not authentic! Just Unbelievable...
mynahshine
@piyanut exactly & at the same time they pull actual authentic items someone reported because they’re angry with someone. I had 4 authentic items pulled in the last month. I only buy high end from Chanel directly or Nordstrom. Plus I’ve been studying to be an authenticator. I would never list a fake.
canarygreen
I am going bonkers here! We have no authenticators. You need a "BA in any field" to get the job? I sold 2 pair of the same earrings that were on chanel.com. PM only authenticated one? How does that happen? My chanel slingbacks were removed? What? Clueless.
browbone101
❤️ this! Sad thing is they ARE making replicas identical. You will pay more for these replicas, but they are out there. It’s a shame. I only buy vintage. The technology wasn’t there back then. Now, they produce them like crazy. The sales lady in the Paris boutique couldn’t even tell a fake bag from a real one when she commented on a lady’s bag only to find it was a replica.
browbone101
I do know PM has true authenticators just as TRR has. Never had one problem authenticating my items. One thing they have really cracked down on is upcycled items. I listed a key ring made out of authentic Hermes ribbon and it was removed. They stated unless the ENTIRE item is made from that establishment, it can’t be sold since only a portion of the item is authentic. Oh well, such is life. All the sites are getting like that.
browbone101
Anyhow, hope your family is doing well. Think of you, often and your momma. 😊
browbone101
I feel bad for these companies. The replicas are getting so good you legit need a magnifying glass and even then...can’t tell. The only person who really knows is you. 😕
mynahshine
@browbone101 hi beautiful! I actually looked up the lawsuit they use to say we can’t up cycle buttons & it was actually dropped 2 weeks after it was filed. It’s perfectly legal. The jewelry designer that they were going after still uses Chanel buttons.
mynahshine
@browbone101 what got me was when they pulled the gift with purchase that Nordstrom gave me & there’s a bunch still listed it was just mine that they had issues with & the receipt from the store wasn’t good enough. I know who is reporting everything I list & why. I refuse to sink to her level though. I’ll just keep doing my thing.
browbone101
@mynahshine yah, idk. It’s crazy. Other sides don’t allow it either, YET... can list definitive fakes?!? I am beginning to think it’s who you know.

@mynahshine I don’t think it is fair. But, like hubby says, life isn’t fair. He doesn’t get it either, LOL.
mynahshine
@browbone101 I agree, it’s who you know & how much commission will they make. It’s definitely changed around here since the leadership changed hands last year. It’s sad because I really love the community.
mynahshine
@browbone101 enough people here know how to reach me at home so it actually works better for me. Nobody gets a cute. Lol
browbone101
@mynahshine When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Is still a great platform for selling our “stuff”. The good outweighs the bad. 😊
browbone101
@mynahshine Ha! 😊
browbone101
@mynahshine It seems everything has a negative. I try to see the positives, otherwise I would be disfunctional, lol.
mynahshine
@browbone101 this is why I adore you! You always keep a good perspective!
browbone101
@mynahshine 😊🤭😊. Have to. My mom told me to “ALWAYS KEEP A GOOD THOUGHT. A THOUGHT THAT BRINGS A SMILE TO YOUR FACE,” Best words, ever. It REALLY works.
mynahshine
@browbone101 your mom is absolutely right! I try but the Sicilian in me gets the best of me at times. Lol it also depends on what my pain level is on any given day. I’m so cranky when I’m hurting & stuck in bed.
browbone101
@mynahshine aww. Hope those days are limited to none at all. Hope you feel better. 😊
mynahshine
@browbone101 it’s not to bad. I’ve been this way my whole life & honestly I don’t really mind. I’ve learned so much from it. I’m blessed to have a husband & kids who are amazing about helping me. I’m thankful for the life I have. Wouldn’t trade it.
browbone101
@mynahshine 😊
mariesgoods1219
So true
mariesgoods1219
I found out the hard way and out $1700
mynahshine
@mariesgoods1219 oh no! I’m so sorry! I found out with a pair of earrings! I was only out a couple hundred but that’s a lot of money to me! That’s how I know how to authenticate the double sided hanging cc earrings. Most on here are FAKE! So be careful even Poshmark has slid them through authentication & they’re not real.
mariesgoods1219
@mynahshine Yes and that's why the next time I buy it will be from the store
mynahshine
@mariesgoods1219 exactly! I only buy from Chanel or Nordstrom now & Poshmark still tries saying one of my listings was a replica & pulled it. I supplied the receipt & they didn’t even care. I make all designer purchases from the designer or the 3 people here I know I can trust.
heatherschoice
Amen!!! I got caught in the trap of liars about unauthentic items. It’s a gut punch once you realize you have been cheated. Worse when Posh jumps you for something your unaware of then don’t protect you from the same thing they slammed you for innocently.
Thank you for trying to help save ppl from throwing money away!
mynahshine
@heatherschoice thank you for your kindness! If you’re ever in doubt feel free to tag me. I’ve been studying authenticating for several years now & I have Chanel & Prada down. I own to many pairs of Louboutins so I know them just from experience.
heatherschoice
Thanks! I’ll be sure to ask if i need help. I tried buying a YSL today and almost got duped🤷🏻♀️. I don’t know the signs on Chanel, YSL or Prada at all.
Ppl can be so rotten. Grrrrrr....hard earned cash and they take it and give crummy products, not cool at all.
I appreciate ppl like you willing to take time to help others, Blessings on you and yours!!!
mynahshine
@heatherschoice a good guide for Chanel is counting the stitches, there should be no less than 10 stitches per inch or square of the quilting. Any serial number ending in 8184 is always a fake. An R in a circle on the CC hardware is also fake. Prada check the R, there should be a notch where the top of it meets the leg on the right. I’ll make a pic of it for you.
mynahshine
@heatherschoice I added a photo of the Prada tags. The notch should be on every place they put Prada.
mynahshine
@heatherschoice also there’s currently over 100 pairs of fake Chanel earrings listed, but because they have a stamp on the back both Posh & the general public accepts them as authentic. Always check the Chanel website for current styles available. Same with makeup. I have scars on my face from Chinese trash makeup sold as authentic.
heatherschoice
Wow!!! I really appreciate all the insight into all the fake stuff. You are a jewel!!! So sorry about the damage to your face by terrible ppl. You are amazing to fight back by making others so aware! For real i pray blessings on you & yours! I appreciate you!
mynahshine
@heatherschoice you’re so kind. It doesn’t really bother me. I honestly thought it would but I just got use to it. I save a lot on blush! Lol
parisluxuries
Most of my closet is accessories not purses but I completely support you! Down with counterfeits on Poshmark! Great job and message 😘
muthaluvvintage
@mynahshine I hate to say it but Posh makes 20% on all those fakes. That is a lot of money. I certainly hope they get better staff. It should be a top priority. I personally don't buy high end items but I don't want anyone taken advantage of. I sell vintage clothing and I hate seeing people selling modern as vintage. Truth is truth...
mynahshine
@muthaluvvintage I absolutely agree! I don’t buy any designer items here unless it’s a designer I can authenticate personally. I don’t trust Posh & their authenticators. I’ve seen several fake bags get the ok from Posh & they were $50 Chinese replicas. Chanel earrings have the most fakes listed.
mynahshine
@muthaluvvintage they pay maybe $30 a pair & are selling them as authentic for hundreds! I say something every time I see a pair. I won’t just sit by & let good people get taken advantage of.
c_muldrow
@mynahshine thanxox🙏🏽for all the insite cuz POSH do be on one i sold a pair of authentic coach boots & the girl said they wer the wrong sz can she send them bak SO SWEET ABOUT it😪 of course u can BUT go thru POSH she sent me bak sum ol radgy sneakers & kept & listed my boots in her closet IT WAS CRAZY I HAD TO PROVE🕵🏽MY own case!!!finally got sum of my $$cuz posh took out 40% of the 🤑 !!!they ddnt try help @all. jus alot of e-mails& it took months for me to get $
mynahshine
@c_muldrow Poshmark shouldn’t have allowed the return of them! It’s clearly stated in the return policy that nothing can be returned unless there is something that wasn’t disclosed in your description. If you had the correct size in your listing & the buyer bought them thinking they would fit, it’s not your problem. I have fought this very issue & won. There’s a lack of seller support here.
always_goodbuys
How do you become an authenticator? I’m always curious as to how these people become one. Although I agree with the technology now, fakes are getting really good. So many replicas here and PM doesn’t seems to mind. 😔
always_goodbuys
The scary thing is I’ve heard about people buying real ones and returning fakes to the store and SAs can’t tell. So scary! 😱
mynahshine
@yappy4 the sales associate should run the serial number, replicas use the same ones & they never match authentic bags. Stitch count is almost always below standards as well. I was introduced to authentication classes by an authenticator. I know some of the people I met there inquired through the design houses directly. Others worked in the fashion industry.
mynahshine
@yappy4 I think it’s like anything else, you figure out who you need to meet to get a foot in the door & then attend functions they will be at. If you want to date a firefighter you go to a burn victim fundraiser. It’s a handy skill, but I doubt I’ll ever work full time at it. I’m close to full retirement age & looking forward to it.
always_goodbuys
@mynahshine thanks for the reply. I find it fascinating and might want to look into it as a second career! All the best to you on your soon to be retirement!
mynahshine
@yappy4 anytime my actual degree is in teaching, so any question about acquiring knowledge is happily responded to.
happyhappy23
@mynahshine You are right
And...I have found some LV bags on TheRealReal that were fake. And badly made!
LV will never cut or sew between the LV. Never! Real bags are perfectly made always!
mynahshine
@lavender171 I always have these listed to help & update as I can. I’m here if you need or want.
mynahshine
@bookmart I have this & a couple other informational listings.
bookmart
@mynahshine yes they do
Authenticate fakes. So glad someone knows!
bookmart
@browbone101 😱
Yes that’s what I’m saying! You can’t tell!
The real Chanel actually look worse The
fake look even better than The real now!
sovanna1
I turkey support this and I’m so tired of seeing they selling replica for higher price! Posh didn’t do anything for sure, still let those selling their stuff. Now makes me scare too to even buy vintage piece, I love buying on here and selling too! I feel sad that the people are spending a lot of money under 500 sometime to get a fake one!
I start to think the same as you, I will just save and buy from the boutique! Thanks for always helping out in the community! 💕
mynahshine
@sovanna1 there’s always little give aways with replicas. I’m pretty good at Chanel leather goods & there’s great online sources to learn how to check. Bottom line if it looks like to good of a deal if probably is fake.
styl1stcloset
Love this post to the moon and so much more to say about it!!!
tpior1001
@piyanut WHAT??? 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
mynahshine
@tpior1001 yes currently they’re hundreds listed in every designer. Please be careful. I have no issues with people buying them, authentic is very expensive. I do have a problem with them being sold as authentic on a site that claims authenticity.
tpior1001
@mynahshine This is shocking to hear. 👜😠Poshmark is the trusted fail-safe for all of us. I stay above the $500. mark for that very reason. 😑
mynahshine
@tpior1001 I do the same & buy from trusted Poshers. I’ve seen a replica authenticated here. The serial number ended in 8184. It’s a known fake number & never used by Chanel. Poshmark changed when they sold a few years ago.
styl1stcloset
Can I use this?? I also want to add more tips!!
styl1stcloset
@browbone101 thank GOD they are! It’s so
Sad to see women judging themselves by their handbags! Or like shoes… there’s no happiness to be found In your clothing - unless you dress comfortable and sustainably. how insane the world is with this logo mania! There is no bag. No shoe, nothing that can buy happiness -
styl1stcloset
@mynahshine agreed 10000000 percent I help authenticate
styl1stcloset
@bookmart no amount of money buys anything BUT TIME THATS THE ONLY THING MONEY SHOULD BE INVESTED IN. I say this not as a snob but bc must learn to love ourselves from within bc human desire to “fit in” to a monetary class you are not a part of is so obvious to members of the upper class!
styl1stcloset
@bookmart these Chanel boy bags are not even coveted by the rich! been ruined when lagerfeld took the mademoiselle lock away - coco would roll over in her grave!! breaks my heart when I watch women esp trying to carry themselves w so Much dignity bc they have a “designer bag” they don’t even know is fake!!!! It’s like so sad! But food and drink proper water! Save the world by spending your time in nature and not pushing this fast fashion planet ruining awfulness —-
styl1stcloset
If interested see on liz ash D com highlighted term “simmer
Trickle down” it will teach you all about fashion branding and why people go coco for coco bluffs ;)

bookmart
@styl1stcloset I agree!!!
You are like mY pos bestie right now
mynahshine
@styl1stcloset I agree about time. I raised my kids with the knowledge that time is our most precious resource & we only get so much. As a family we have always made time for each other & when we lost my mom last year suddenly we were glad we did.
mynahshine
@styl1stcloset I love fashion & as a history teacher find vintage fashion more attractive. I think it’s totally fine to have nice things but they should never be what defines you. I dress for me & nobody else. If it’s not comfortable I don’t wear it.
mynahshine
@bookmart I lean towards the old design houses & have studied their history. That’s the part I love the most. Reselling is a part of sustainability & doesn’t get the credit it deserves. By all means use any part you want. The more we spread the word the better.
mynahshine
@bookmart getting my vintage Chanel flap bag wasn’t about what others thought. For me it was a memory keeper of a million things that brought me to the day I finally saved enough. Without the memories the bag would be worthless in my eyes.
styl1stcloset
@mynahshine I made a listing like this for Louis Vuitton. Chanel flap bags and any bag LV, Chanel, Fendi etc now have new chips inside that cannot be replicated, so anyone selling “BNWT” they’re lying if they’re going off of a stamp anyone could put inside, they’re even a website that makes tons of money copying the cards, stickers, and bags so these
styl1stcloset
@mynahshine posters can sell their fake goods. Don’t even feel bad for these brands tho - they’ve been ahead of the game for a while - they don’t care about the little guys - they are about to catch the main manufacturers so all boats and freight stop :) also - a fake Chanel, fendi, Gucci… whatever … no matter how good it is - anyone who has grown up with these items can see a mile away. It’s sad how many fakes I see a day.
mynahshine
@styl1stcloset we aren’t well off people, but I save for authentic. I have a pretty nice collection going & most was bought with what I’ve earned here. I would rather go without then buy a replica. I’m fine with second hand as long as it’s in good shape.
styl1stcloset
@mynahshine I totally understand this —- and THIS IS EXACTLY WHY I hate the fake market bc of this post COVID world where brands have become some sort of stability everyone is buying name brand bags they increased by like 250% you which is insanity. So my point was that people that don’t know better are spending like a months worth of their pay on a bag just to find out they were scammed. That’s what upsets me the most. But I’m working on something to change that
styl1stcloset
*250% YOY** not you sorry!!
styl1stcloset
@mynahshine and I wasn’t trying to say I’m well off —— please excuse that error. I just know bc I work in fashion.
mynahshine
@styl1stcloset I understood what you were saying. I will go through the likes on the replicas & warn everyone as often as I can. I can’t understand why they haven’t created an algorithm to sort them out yet. It wouldn’t be difficult.
styl1stcloset
@mynahshine i think it’s bc there’s a good percentage of people who want good replicas. I mean if you could get a 10k bag like the flap for 300 bucks and it’s a goof knock off than they feel no one will be the wiser. The problem is that these same people who fund the counterfeit market also fund sex trafficking and don’t pay workers fair prices. When I worked in fashion we went to China andWOW as of a wake up call for me
pipercroston
@browbone101 FYI a travel nurse I work with is an authentictor for PM. She says they just send pictures of things and she guesses if they are authentic. I had no idea that is how they authentic things. I am appalled. I won’t buy anything luxury from them anymore. Also, anything under $500, I won’t even look at because of this. I will stick with the Real Real.
mynahshine
@pipercroston exactly! I spent 3 years studying to be a Chanel authenticator & you can never be 100% sure unless the item is in front of you. I’ve seen them authenticate a bag w/an 8184 serial number. Everyone knows that’s a replica. I buy from RR or items I can authenticate personally.
pipercroston
@mynahshine do you know a good Gucci authenticator
mynahshine
@pipercroston I don’t, I’ve been looking for one myself. My daughter wants a Gucci bag for Christmas & I’m afraid to buy one here because I don’t know enough to authenticate.
muthaluvvintage
Once Posh went to the open market, everything changed. They are all about the money and keeping the stockholders happy.
They don't care about authenticity, they care about money. Legally, they have to say it's a big NoNo but they don't really care. That's my opinion....
mynahshine
@muthaluvvintage I actually agree. I’ve been here since the beginning & back then I could buy with confidence. Not now, it takes a look of research before I’ll make a big purchase here.
muthaluvvintage
@mynahshine I only buy vintage and don't make any purchases of luxury goods here. I have a vintage LV Speedy listed with no action on it. It came from a friend's family estate, no doubt it's real. I seem to continue to make good sales with little sharing. I've built up a customer base and have lotsa return people. My main sales come from private groups. I have a lot of time invested here with little effort and many sales. The only reason I continue here.
muthaluvvintage
@mynahshine There is no loyalty here anymore. I'm afraid Posh is their own worst enemy now. So sad but I really don't think when it started it was intended as a full time income stream for people. Poshers themselves have changed the dynamic and now Posh is trying to keep up. I'm no computer whiz, I just go with the flow and offer great customer service.
I'm older, I don't need all the answers as many young people appear to need. LOL
mynahshine
@muthaluvvintage we’re totally on the same page. It’s part of the reason I don’t list much anymore. For me it’s always been about selling the jewelry I make & the things I don’t use or need. Just a little side money to buy something else. I prefer to have happy buyers. I’ve also made amazing friends here. Several are now real life friends.
mynahshine
@muthaluvvintage it feels like the customers have changed as well. They all want Walmart prices on designer items. I already sell mine dirt cheap compared to what they’re worth. I’ll take a decent offe, but not insulting one.
mynahshine
@muthaluvvintage I’m older as well, 56. I prefer vintage items especially bags! They have a history & history is my passion
muthaluvvintage
@mynahshine Same.... It's all paid for and isn't eating anything or needing my attention. I love seeing pieces get another life but I wear them and show them off. I sold the Gucci sandals right off my feet once. I live at the beach and always keep flip flops in my car. You just never know.....
mynahshine
@muthaluvvintage awe you’re the best kind of person ❤️
