@madisonbanana more of a replica of an antique coffee grinder.

This might be a dumb question, as I know you said itโs decorative, but could it actually grind coffee?

alysiam12345
@oliviagagnon107 I think it could but Iโve never actually put one together to try.

Do you sell just the catch cup?

What's the brand ? I'd like to research it :)

@invaderleefun they seem to be unbranded. The bigger outter boxes simply read โOlivia Giftsโ and (2) 4 digit numbers (which appear to be the model numbers as I have/had 2 different versions of these). Where these are 15+ years old - I tend to think they predate the Internet. Hope this helps!

It does, I'm just wondering if it's actually food safe. I want a grinder for the grains I am growing upcoming season and this one is just too cute.

does the box say anything about being food safe or just decorative?

@invaderleefun unfortunately there is nothing on the boxes. Just a model number ๐ข

This was the surprise hit of Christmas. Aside from the cheap plastic top (which needed regluing), it's made of solid materials: porcelain hopper, cast iron body, and thick glass cup. It DOES grind coffee, but it's not adjustable and gives a very coarse grind. Fine for French Press, but not drip and certainly not espresso. That said, it grinds very quickly and is a blast to use. We use it as a pre-grinder for our hand-cranked espresso grinder. Made in Taiwan. Seller gift-wrapped the package!!

@invaderleefun I don't see it working for grain. It could maybe create something like steel-cut oatmeal, but nothing like a fine flour.

Correction: they ARE adjustable. Has a spring-loaded dial behind the grinder that looked like an attachment point to the wood backer. Turning it adjusted the the grind.

The black part where it mounted the glass cup and the ceramic top portion.
Is it plastic or metal?
Jan 21Reply

alysiam12345
@lam_smith the bottom black part is metal. The black lid is plastic. Hope this helps anything else, please let me know.
