Vintage watch made by Elgin, from 1934. Well loved and protected. It stretches to fit, not on a wrist, it’s about 4 1/2 inches, on it’s about 6 1/2inches. As it gets further from my wrist, it stretches out and shows the inner bands, at the point before it looks obvious, it reaches about 8 inches about. Yes, I wound it up and it ticks working, trick is, once it’s wound up, you can’t change the time, so make sure to set it before.

Hello,is the watch functioning properly? Thanks
tallyclover
@edski Yes it does, just needs batteries to work. Mom quit wearing it a few years back because she needed a digital with big number for her work.

Would you please clarify if this is an old mechanical watch that needs to be wound by its wearer or if it had been updated with a quartz movement requiring a battery. If it’s the former, can the watch be wound? If it ticks, how much time does it gain or lose over an hour?
Thanks!!

@debbyjones717 updated the post!

Nice watch but if it’s original it should be a wind up in 1930’s they were wind ups!
tallyclover
@debbyjones717 it is, I checked it out and I did put that it is a wind up in the description
