Óscar Arístides Renta Fiallo was a Dominican fashion designer born in Santo Domingo, Dom Rep at 18, Oscar left the Caribbean to study painting in Madrid. Enticed by fashion, he switched his focus to fashion and was trained by Cristóbal Balenciaga and Antonio del Castillo. He opened his couture boutique in 1965 in NYC and quickly became internationally known as one of the couturiers who dressed Jacqueline Kennedy.
