schoolofrock11 @auntalma you're welcome. One sure way to tell if something is from a later era, zipper. In the 30s 40s 50s and the early to mid 60s, zippers are metal. The nylon coil zippers were invented in the early 60s and you might find them on high end clothing, but didn't become mainstream until late 60s to early 70s. Also position of zippers .

schoolofrock11 @auntalma in the 30s/40s and early most dresses with zippers were located on the left side of the dress. Very rarely will you find a zipper on the back of a dress from that era. Also 30s might use snaps or hooks and eyes to close. Full Back zippers were seen in mid to late 50s and in the 60s 70s we almost never see zippers on the side

schoolofrock11 @auntalma feel free to tag me with questions too! For example surged seams, how most seams are finished today was not common until the mid to late 60s or early 70s. Clothing from the late 40s to early 5os the seams were pinked with pinking shears..the edges look zig zagged

schoolofrock11 @auntalma Awww thank you. I love helping people learn about vintage items. I adore vintage 30s thru the early 60s clothing. Though most of my vintage clothing are dresses. I wish i had more oppirtunity to wear them. But my job is veey casual and wouldnt want to ruin them.So well made and unique. Back then people cared about their appearance.
