Argentinean Vintage Black Leather Handcrafted Tote Bag. I have a trove of leather goods from a family member who travelled the world, purchasing in Europe and in Argentina. This one made in Argentina, likely purchased in 60s or 70s. As with all these goods, they have been impeccably curated. This one has two interesting vintage purse SCREWS on the top of the bag, they literally screw the bag shut. So, this is a bag from a different time when people locked up their centavos and even their chic bags had security! Last two pictures show the bronze screw detail, the screws are big, move easily, and unscrew lefty-loosy. I love the cut and footprint of this bag, it’s small but squarish, with (as usual) impeccable insides and zero flaws. It may need a little black shoe polish here or there, but it has been kept beautifully because of THAT – but also due to very careful wear and curating. Bag likely purchased in 40s of 50s.
