This listing is for the original cruise book issued to my Dad and his name is printed on the front cover "Neal Thrasher". Ship: USS Okinawa (LPH-3) Year: 1967 Commanding Officer: CAPT William H. Alexander, USN Cruise Location: Western Pacific Comments: The covers show some soiling. Otherwise, good condition. The photos show the actual item being sold. The book contains photos and information specific to the deployment. History of this book: This book was purchased from his unit while active duty Navy but for some reason he is not pictured in the book even tho his name is printed on the front cover. Book does have a "old book" smell to it as it is over 55 years old. Pictures, pages and book cover are in good condition but look a bit dirty. No tears, rips or stains noticed on the pages inside. Pages are not like normal paper...they are thicker and have a texture to them such as linen paper or something.
