Madewell relaxed fit denim short 26

I don't understand how these are a size 26, because they are laughably oversized and unwearable for me. I guess if by "relaxed fit" they were going for "falling off your ass" these fit true to size, otherwise I think maybe they're best for a 28-29. Measurements soon.
