1970’s era Gunne Sax
Gunne Sax's aesthetic has been described as feminine, nostalgic, Victorian, old world and romantic.
The mood of Gunne Sax was based on McClintock's personal vision: "I brought to [Gunne Sax] my own concept of clothing based on romance–nostalgia created by a mixture of prints, ribbons, laces, muslins and braids. It was 1969, the "mini" era was ending, and the Gunne Sax "Country," "Edwardian," and "Prairie" era was beginning."
Sometimes referred to as Granny or prairie dresses, a typical Gunne Sax dress of the early 1970s featured a banded Empire waist and a long maxi-skirt. Lace trim, high collars and long sleeves evoked an amalgam of past eras and created an overall impression of demure femininity.
This is a one of the more expensive medieval inspired gowns designed by Jessica McClintock.
These dresses were worn to events and parties and tend to have suffered over time but this dress is in remarkably excellent condition.

@cheergirlpam1 I have provided measurements within the photos of the garment, that is your best measure of fit. Please review that in reference and compare to your own personal measurements. We are all shaped differently so nothing fits any two people the same 💞
