Popeye Cookie Jar Copyright 1980 King Features Syndicate, Inc. This was purchased "As-Is" from a department store. It has a hairline fracture line from the top of jar to near the neck area, probably from handling as the display model. The fracture line can be seen slightly when the inner jar is illuminated, but does not appear to have gone through.(See photos) Also, some smudges and paint imperfections. Internet research and google image search did not find much. It is considered a rare piece and selling for up to $350. We purchased it for display purposes only and not to use as a cookie jar. It weighs about 3 lbs, so thought it would be too heavy to put anything in it. We love the uniqueness and rarity of this conversation piece. We are downsizing, so must sacrifice. Lower price due to the imperfect condition.
