* silver colored charm that has NIKE brand SWOOSH symbol and the text "Premium' inscribed on both sides
* some surface scratches and discoloration present from age and wear
* vintage
* weighs approx 0.7oz
* Measurements
Total length of necklace: approx 15.75"
Length of chain: approx 13"
Length of charm: approx 2.75"
Width of charm: approx 0.5"
unsure of exact composition:
- charm piece is not magnetic
- no stamps, hallmarks, or imprints
- ice test: ice cube rapidly melts on top of the charm
(online research shows ice melts rapidly on authentic silver pieces because silver conducts heat rapidly)
- lighter test: when exposed to lighter flame, there is a small black mark that appears and wipes off easily without the use of any cleaning agents
(online research shows silver creates black stain where exposed to lighter flame)
- multiple surface scratches present
- no spots of flaking or peeling present

@dave_seller Hi there! Honestly I am not sure. It was my brother's when he was a kid-he got it about 25yrs ago now-and recently decided to part with it when purging old items.
I attempted to find a similar one online before listing here on Poshmark, but there was only one other exactly like this one for sale (along with a pair of shoes) by another seller and very little information was given about the necklace itself.
I will do my best to get some more info for you🙂

@dave_seller @dave_seller Hi there! I apologize for the delay in response, I just wanted to touch base with you regarding this NIKE dog tag necklace:
It is not magnetic (everything online says authentic silver also isn't magnetic though- in addition to some alloy metals)
It has no stamps, hallmarks, or imprints of any kind
I tried the ice cube test and the ice did rapidly melt (online research states silver conducts heat even at room temp, so authentic silver pieces melt ice quickly)

I performed the lighter test on a corner of the dog tag and there was a small black mark that appeared (online states real silver will turn black when exposed to the flame from a lighter). It rubbed off easily without the use of any vinegar or cleaning agents
If I had to take an educated guess, I would say it may be authentic silver (or at least silver plated) but again, however, I am still not 100% sure of it's composition.
