besttexas @hollyglasser this is what customer service responded. Van Heusen bags sold in the United States are predominantly made from faux leather, specifically polyurethane (PU)

hollyglasser @besttexas It just says “Made in China” on inside tag. No material tag. No smell. Probably faux! I will update the ad. Thanks for vigilance! I assume you only want genuine leather.
