This graceful sterling silver ring is formed as a stylized snake with an impressed band starting at the head and tapering to the tail. The impressed area is nicely oxidized and decorated with contrasting circular elements, one of which serves as the snake's eye. The patina is soft and is nicely enhanced by the oxidation. The inside of the ring bears the partial marks for sterling, Mexico and its maker, the preeminent Taxco workshop of Los Ballesteros.
