This is a fun vintage dress from Lerner Shops, circa 1940s. It is almost like a taffeta. The color is very unique. It seems to change from an eggplant/ambiguine to a brown, black, purple or dark blue. The print is pretty cute. It has a green and pale pink Scottie dog print scattered over it. Label - Lerner Shops (inside belt. Nothing in the dress) shoulder pads removable belt v-neck collar buttoned bodice no stretch no pockets short, cap sleeves gathered waist side zip pit-pit 19" waist 14" hip 37" full length 48" sleeve 4" belt 32" Condition - I would consider this dress in good to very good condition. It needs cleaning and has some odor that I think will resolve with a clean. The dress seems very sturdy. I found one tiny pin hole near one shoulder. See picture. This is probably the only dress I have ever found from the 1940s. I find earlier and later but not this time period. It may have something to do with WWII.
