jjcurtis4 @mdoyleca hi! It does need a battery, I haven’t worn it in a couple years. No scratches on the dial, the dials are sapphire crystal and very difficult to scratch. I added the photo of the scratch on the side of the case. It’s very faint, but it’s near where the 9 is but on the side.
