When auctioning your items, your shoppers can bid on the listing with a suggested bid price or customize their own bid. Once the auction ends, you can feature another listing. You can auction listings as many times as you’d like! If your item doesn't sell during your show, shoppers can always make an offer or purchase it directly from your closet. Keep in mind that the lowest auction price is $3!

I feel like 30 seconds is perfect and keeps buyers from
getting bored and will stay in the show longer . 15 seconds is perfect for requests and buy it now :) 60 seconds will work if that is the total time you are showing an item from start to end
yaketyyakp
It would be even better if you could auction your stuff directly in your closet for let’s say 3-5 days without having to do a live auction! Many people are just not comfortable with live auctions.
ahemdarling
@poshing_panner I agree completely!! Do not feel comfortable going live.
princessleah5
@poshing_panner that would be cool 😎!
thedigitaldoyen
I'd like to go with 30 seconds. However, if I have a larger crowd, like 15 or more, then I may go to a 60 second auction to give everybody an opportunity.
shop_intherapy
Great information however it’s not that easy doing lives. I’ve done many of them in the beginning. I had lots of viewers and towards the end this year very little traffic to my shows and I ended up basically giving all my stuff away for three dollars. That’s not good for sellers I’m sure many can agree with this. Perhaps we can get some ideas on how to bring more viewers to our show because I’ve done everything possible and I got tired of giving my stuff away.🙁
missmeboutique
@shop_intherapy great point! Thanks for sharing
jessica_allego
@hobby_shophaven aggree
jessica_allego
@shop_intherapy i can relate. Doing live several time zero sales. Unlike before no live i have regular sales. I list alot not healthy anymore to use posh now a days
shop_intherapy
@jessica_allego I began doing lives last year, I started at $3 because everyone was as well, it did bring in many viewers but then the viewers declined, and I just could not do $3 anymore because it be like 1 or 2 people buying then, no bidding up, not good for me
shop_intherapy
@jessica_allego I have revamped my closet and doing different things, I am seeing more traffic and weekly sales,. Im a little more encouraged now.
fancyboutiquee
With my lives I either make 5-6 sales from one person or no sales at all. And it’s usually the latter 😅
torres7159
@ahemdarling me either! I need to bite the bullet and do it I know!
ggandg1
@poshing_panner . I like that idea.
madisonstmarket
What is the advantage of doing a live show vs a promoted closet?
lilpointer201
@ahemdarling I agree, I'm terrified lol
spookyheartsg
❤️❤️💯This for live shows only and yes girls for the ones who haven’t done it or started it does sell better then siting items especially if you have duplicates or group things like plus size or home decor aninals . LIVE Sales is the FUTURE of online selling people love the interactions the best deals being able to bundle so make sure YOU have a good amount items to sell so people can buy more then 1 item and save on shipping
cariparker
@shop_intherapy $3 dollar starts killed the Value of Items. I am not going to do that.
marlynshop
@shop_intherapy agree with you!!!
shop_intherapy
@cariparker yes! I agree! It’s hard to do different types of show. I’ve tried 50% off. I’ve tried $10 starts and nothing but if you look at those shows with the three dollar starts they’re on fire, but they’ve been doing it for a very long time. Everybody’s always there, is the same people always there and they’re making $$. But I do agree that it’s almost like you have to do really low starts, I just can’t do it
marlynshop
@shop_intherapy glad to here i been sharing my closet up to 3 or more times a day sharing other sellers liveshows, doing more live shows getting recurrent customers i'll be doing another live show this saturday at 5pm low starts $5 and up!
esim71
I tried to do a show and got no traffic so I dismantled the set up, and now don’t have any motivation to try another. I worked hard on getting the show set up to make it fabulous. Then I go on other shows and see people sell not so great items for so much $$$. Clearly I’m not quitting my day job to be a salesperson anytime soon. 😂. Nor am I going to go get a sales degree just to sell items out of my closet. Some sales tips would be nice from those doing successful live shows.
shop_intherapy
@marlyn_427 I tried all that believe, i’m just focusing now on better sourcing and selling from my closet
marlynshop
@spookyheartsg agree with you live sales is the trend now!!!
shop_intherapy
You know what a great idea would be it’s when Poshmark has the promotion to view a show and win $$. Maybe it should be view a show you have never viewed before to be entered in the drawing. That way people check out new shows not the same ones. If you want sellers to do more shows then help us get more viewers so that we can do exactly that what’s the sense of paying people to watch shows that already have a high viewer account
louann511
@poshing_panner I agree completely!
marlynshop
@shop_intherapy Tips that have help me increase sales, reduce price on the items by less than $5, send discount to all likers, silent shows bring in customers to your closet, Also found a page is called postermywall and you can create flyers for your live show or create any fun listing as well if you can use photoroom and it will removed the background from your pictures and you add cool and fun background! As well take nice pictures with great lighting. Hope everyone have amazing sales!!!
beholdherlife
30 seconds works great for most of my shoppers and sharers. Apple Pay requires. Full minute for multiple bidders, however.
cariparker
@shop_intherapy only way you can do low starts is w/a steady following of minimum 100 people (maybe 50) that you trust not to ‘Steal’ the Items for $3.00 bucks. No way am I giving it away! I sell 2-5 items from My Closet a Week w/No Lives. I am just going to give My Best Prices & See what happens.
PM is notoriously cheap. There is a precedent here. Also, I’m Branching Out to Other Platforms & going to use a Cross Listing App.
shop_intherapy
@cariparker I was fortunate to come across this lady has been helping me clean up my closet with the listings and giving me some great pointers which I incorporated in my closet. Once I started changing things, I started seeing an increase in sales. I do believe that the live selling is not for everybody.
shop_intherapy
You definitely have to be an entertainer you are on the screen just like being on TV. You have to be likable. Etc. it is not for everybody even if they say it is it is not. Yes I’ve done a lot of the things that you mentioned hoping it will be helpful for me too.
alyssa_saleshop
@poshing_panner yesssss, couldn’t agree more!
shop_intherapy
@poshing_panner excellent idea!
cariparker
@shop_intherapy no arguments here!
glad your getting help! sometimes all it takes is the ‘right’ person to come along! the shows are pure dopamine for shopaholics looking for a deal. Literally it’s a High.
drea4eva
@poshing_panner yes!! I would love that!
joycesylvia368
I used 30 but I'm going to start bumping g it up to 60 when I get a larger crowd to my shows
saltydeals
@poshing_panner I agree 💫👋😎🌊
goldenschu
@marlyn_427 great insight
dedebug46
@hobby_shophaven this is a fantastic idea. I would not be able to a live show/auction but putting the closet on sale would be great.
marlynshop
@esim71 Please check out my closet i share my posh tip listing! I understand how you feel i felt the same way on my first live show but the more you do them you get recurrent and new customers and lots of sales !!! I'm more motivated to do more live shows just keep trying on the weekends or after work! Create a nice flyer to catch the customer attention!!!
mializzie2
@cariparker I agree
yaketyyakp
@hobby_shophaven I got bored after 5 minutes in a show. I don’t want to compete for an item and then possibly pay more than I would have normally because you get in a bidding war. I don’t have the patience for live shows either and don’t feel comfortable or feel like spending my time waiting for the item I am interested in to come up. I think it’s trendy and many are unhappy with the quality of items they receive and it will go away just like any other new thing.
khemtrelz
@poshing_panner love this
khemtrelz
@ahemdarling right agreed
cariparker
@mializzie2 👍🏻
hippiechicboho
@poshing_panner I sure hope you’re right!! Everyone doing shows leaves few to buy anyway. I have done and participated in many lives, and never sold a single item!! If I put my closet on sale and advertise to everyone I can, I usually sell several items. Just sharing my closets, one item at a time gets me sales!! I hope these live shows are just a passing trend!!
spookyheartsg
@marlyn_427 it’s been done in asia for years well in Asian Japan they are ahead in fashion technology about 3 years they been doing it there and now all the apps offer it and it keeps people engaged I see girls do well if they have the inventory or the categories. And if you wanna run sales even better! Because we can get better deals and one ship price . It’s very cool and totally is future I know it everyone can do it yet there’s a waiting list for some and some are already eligble
marlynshop
@spookyheartsg Agree with you!!!
faithboutique0
Every seller has a point I do live and I love it sales sometimes can be difficult but I push ahead it’s challenging on other platforms also.
dodynkalea
@shop_intherapy I would love to hear some of those tips!?
a_2nd_thread
15-30 seconds is good, 60 gets boring; yes live shows is the future but not for all of us unfortunately, you have to be engaging. For some reason silent shows don’t get much traffic
madonnabrewer
The major upset to my business is shoppers who expect to pay less than what I paid for an item. some don't understand that most of my items are new with tags and they are very nice clothes and I am not giving them away for $5.00. Does anyone else see this change?
madonnabrewer
@hobby_shophaven Great Advice! Thank you
share_bear1588
@cariparker
madonnabrewer
@shop_intherapy Now that's a great idea?
hobbyshopluxury
@shop_intherapy i love that idea !!!
bjh2222
@poshing_panner I agree! I think this is a great idea!
acarlos922
15 seconds is my preferred time!! Makes the pace of the show no buy so much faster!!
katie_appell
@poshing_panner I agree
lighthousehaven
@madonnabrewer
Yes, I agree, I’m in California and only have goodwills of Salvation Army, yard sales are not very good either
wernerfarmsco
@poshing_panner That would awesome 👏🏻
jewelry_party
30 seconds works great for everyone and Apple Pay users. 15 seconds for requests. And 60 or maybe even 90 seconds is great for running to bathroom or getting something from another room. Or luxury purse starts at $3
saleitchic
@shop_intherapy Hello, could you please share what it is that is working for you to help you make more sales? And what is your category that you d sell? ty! 🥰
secsquirrelmerc
@cariparker I agree. From what I see, the people doing $3 start clothing items are purchasing pallets, so they are making a profit. Those of us with a small inventory, or clearing out personal items from our home make $0 on $3 starts. Bundling helps, but when there aren't many viewers to begin with, profits from a show are rare.
_deardarlene
@hippiechicboho I’ve done live shows and they’ve been rough. I haven’t sold anything. It’s actually really discouraging getting on camera and then realizing 1 hr in that nothing has been purchased while mentally battling “should I go another 5 minutes? Maybe someone will come and buy something.”
They’re a waste of time it seems.
hippiechicboho
@_deardarlene I’m with you there!!!
valmelrich3
@poshing_panner I totally agree I was disappointed when I tried do my first show I did not have sound and could not see if anyone joined and comments were not showing up. It took me a lot to come out of my comfort zone to do a live show and I felt let down. I emailed customer support they told me try somethings so I'm going to do another show hopefully it will work. Posh should a least have live support for first time shows.
yaketyyakp
@valmelrich3 yeah, I probably would have been pretty uncomfortable. I just choose to sell from my closet.
kirin13
No. Absolutely not. It's like Posh doesn't even listen to the majority of their sellers. So many of us are literally just trying to make ends meet selling things, and pay our bills. Shows/auctions/promoted closet killed any chance of sales most of us ever had and it's so frustrating. Maybe you should focus on getting actual customer traffic into the app (and not bot/fake accounts) instead of trying to force everyone to do shows many of us don't have time, space, or the desire to do??
clarissalove456
30 to 60 sec is good. Question: Does commenting in the comment help your algorithm in anyway just curious????
stephaniehunt76
@poshing_panner I 100% agree we should have more options
cottagegifts
@ahemdarling Tag some friends in, tag me & I will be happy to give moral support! I almost had a panic attack before my first shows…I kept rescheduling it. Then when I finally did it, I was amazed that it wasn’t as scary as I thought. Do some Silent Shows first to get the hang of how to operate the show controls.
cottagegifts
30 seconds is best if buyers are using Apple Pay…they need more time. Otherwise I love the 15 seconds as it helps the excitement factor.
mittens_kittens
how on earth can you make any profit at $3????? I will not look stupid by selling high end pieces at this rate.These shows are a waist of my superior sales ability. I have worked in retail my entire life,and find these shows are nothing more than entertainment, pic who you want to watch,sorry but I'm here for the money,trust me there are much better ways to sale.
mittens_kittens
@kirin13 yes yes agreee
sharmenian_lux
@shop_intherapy they aren't making as much as you think. it's turned poshmark into a garage sale. even the big sellers1 lose money.
sharmenian_lux
@mittens_kittens most shows now the sellers are asking for you to purchase items to "support the host" because they aren't selling enough to make it worth their time. the only ones surviving are sales that people can save tons of money on designer items. or like me, I sold my daughters clothes and shoes when she moved and made $600 but like a garage sale, not to profit.
shop_intherapy
@nurseshar2969 do you think? I think if you have a very large audience things get bidded up which is great you can make great money.
I learned the hard way, letting designer items go for so cheap never doing it again I didn’t have enough yours to bit up my items so 99% of my items sold at three dollars😆
sharmenian_lux
@kirin13 well said!
sharmenian_lux
@_deardarlene it has becomeis demeaning, I did a 12 hour show and sold $100, profit maybe $20. The big guys make money off the competition factor. I got caught up in it and then started searching on other sites and found similar designer items for less.
1fashionbliss
@shop_intherapy I've noticed the same thing. Most that do low starts are selling from pallets, too, so it's a little different. I've also seen large viewers with only a couple bidding throughout the show
1fashionbliss
@secsquirrelmerc this is exactly what's going on, and a valid observation. I've said the same thing as a seller as well.
shop_intherapy
@nurseshar2969 wow! I guess we small timers just assume but it makes sense and even if they are selling from pallets, those pallets are really pricey, they have to be able to make their money back.
1fashionbliss
@_deardarlene I felt and feel that way each time I do a show. Then, when you get viewers and you try to engage with them and no one chats back. it's an awkward feeling.
shop_intherapy
@1fashionbliss yes that happened to me before as well lots of people in the show, but maybe one or two only bidding, like I said earlier, they’re just there to be entertained
1fashionbliss
@shop_intherapy it sure seems that way! Some people have to much time on their hands
shop_intherapy
@saleitchic the first thing I did is started listing every single day. I do price higher to make enough room for offers. I try to use every tool available that Poshmark has given us. CCO, OTL, but the biggest one I think has been I use ChatGPT to create the descriptions for me, I tell it to write a description that is searchable in the search engines
shop_intherapy
@saleitchic I just started doing that I sell used women’s clothing, namebrand, designer, and some luxury
bubblechai
15 seconds, I think a buyer knows when they want something in the first few seconds. I vote for quick decisions 🌞💫🌠
stargirl1957
@ahemdarling Exactly. I would prefer to put the listings in the auction directly in my closet.
pookettbear2010
@poshing_panner exactly this!! totally agree!
snow_chic
@esim71 😭 I don't have a day job! This HAS to work!!!
spookyheartsg
@shop_intherapy yhx for your input on live shows. I hqsvent done a real live show on posh yet but I saw lots $3 starts . Even if it’s same show and say some1 buys 5 items at $3 each time. They don’t give seller a discount for combined sales? I know shipping helps the buyer but they don’t combined? The items and take just the 2.95 it should be 2.95 or 20% which ever is great for all combined iptems and 1 ship
clynn77
@poshing_panner agree?
kat_sposhcloset
@shop_intherapy totally agree
snow_chic
@1fashionbliss also, keep in mind PM sends all kinds of notifications that if you sit through shows your eligible to win such and such $250 drawing. Always some random promotion…. So sometimes, I log on with my ipad and then mute it and walk away. - sorry!
vivisicloset
15 seconds great for buyers in a hurry 🥳 30 seconds also a great feature starting the show 🎉 60 seconds great for big audiences 🥰
1fashionbliss
@snow_chic thank you for letting me know! Great idea!!! 👍
passionaterose
@madisonstmarket live show vs promoted closet has a huge difference. the promoted closet isn't doing anything for me, like 2 sales. My first love I was scared, even cried, and couldn't figure out the buttons at all (they need a practice mode like others have). I made $800 in 3 hours. This last show I only made $200 in 6 hours (mostly friend pity 😅) but still better than PC
paltzik
@poshing_panner Yes!! It’s so difficult to reach customers with Posh Shows! A closet auction would be amazing!!
passionaterose
@valmelrich3 message me when you do it. I'll come. 😇
passionaterose
@1fashionbliss I'm way chatty!! invite me to your show
angelascloset4u
I took a not to build up but I love doing my lives! The 15 second run time is perfect for me. The only issue is that Apple Pay is slow as hell and that causes issues for some people.
esim71
@marlyn_427 thank you. I even bought background flyers on Etsy to use for shows since I am not a graphic designer. I guess I will give it one more try! Thanks for the motivation!
saleitchic
@shop_intherapy Awww, tysm for your response!! What is CCO and OTL?? My apologies, not sure what that stands for when it comes to Poshmark!! 🥰
shop_intherapy
@saleitchic closet clearout & Offers to Likers
1fashionbliss
@pashinate Wow! that's amazing! I had high anxiety as well. I was proud to just have done it! I've had my ain't a while and posted a few items and they didn't sell so I didn't come back until just recent months
1fashionbliss
@pashinate I definitely will, and you do likewise. Thanks Luv ❤️
1fashionbliss
@nurseshar2969 I definitely understand your sentiments
saleitchic
@shop_intherapy hello, just wondering how or in what way did you revamp to get more exposure to lead to more sales?
saleitchic
@marlynshop Just curious is using this feature free or do you have to pay for this app to make your flyers?
marlynshop
@saleitchic is free and whatever is not free it will tell you i just use the free options they have
marlynshop
it is easy to work with just look up what you want for example type the word sales and you will get different flyers and you edit the information to your show date time and information. You can delete from the existing flyer the things you don't need.
saleitchic
@shop_intherapy so what did you end up doing to increase your sales?
saleitchic
@hippiechicboho how did you put your closet on sale?
ujeanco
@cariparker Agree 💯!!!
bettis2010
@shop_intherapy and then there are those that never talk about what they are selling, but other Poshers NO THANKS TO LIVE SHOWS. I'm doing fine without them.
twochicklets
@shop_intherapy @shop_intherapy who did you use to help you? would you say it worked? I was contemplating this route because the sales have definitely slowed down. Thank you
ellu
When I can do a live, they are alot of work, 30 secs I feel is the ideal length...To be able to maybe have a 2 day "auction" option on a listing in an active closet would be an awesome thing, since going "live" is not always practical 🌸🫶
youngone7
@poshing_panner I agree and that would be a great addition to the closet tools!
bbc760
@shop_intherapy yup! it's hard to compete with people who buy pallets and who buy stuff in bulk at the BINs. I have share shows but I don't feel comfortable just showing my stuff bc I feel it's all the same stuff I have been showing. I see other shows selling Shien style clothing for $30-$100 and have 100s of people in those shows and I don't get it?
bbc760
@fancyboutiquee same!!! Even offering stuff at $3-5 and I have themed shows but nothing
youngone7
@cariparker can you do a higher bid start or do you have to start at $3 mark?
bbc760
@shop_intherapy GREAT idea 💡
cariparker
@youngone7 you can start @ whatever you want! you can even do BUY NOW & not auction while doing a Live
shop_intherapy
@twochicklets hey there it was just someone I met that gave me some tips on how to fix my closet. Some of the things I changed are only white backgrounds, I use ChatGPT to create my listings & SEO keywords, and I only sell items that I can list for 30 and up. I list every day now about 2 to 5 items a day, and I relist items in my closet that are 30 days and older. I do this every single day and I am selling now every day.
shop_intherapy
@twochicklets there are days where I don’t have a sale, but I am definitely selling more items than before. I don’t have any items that won’t sell over at least 20. I do have a lot of designer, my closet is small. Those are the things that I’m doing different and I am having consistent weekly sales and I am not doing any live shows at all. I don’t have any desire to do that anymore.
shop_intherapy
@bbc760 yes and to think I fell for that and I started selling my items at 3 to 4 dollars most of the time they sell at that price because my audience wasn’t that big. I will never do that again. Bottom line is that you have to be an entertainer people come back because you entertain them and they like you. It’s just like a TV program.
sevendoves
@poshing_panner I totally agree. and then there are people like me who work 50 hrs a week and don't really have time for live shows <3
bbc760
@shop_intherapy I have been co-hosting with another Posher and I can help sell her stuff but not my own. I'm going to try a few more times and then if I'm not successful I will quit 😔
sharonnichols42
Reading the comments is my learning curve. I’ve done both Live & Silent
Do what works for your own closet & preference. It takes time to get comfortable if you are shy in front of the camera. Be Yourself - Simple as that!
pamelabanks52
@madonnabrewer yes, this is now the expectation. I don’t do lives, yet. But this trend has changed buyers on this platform. I send very reasonable offers to likers who want it for free!
pamelabanks52
@kirin13 agreed
shop_intherapy
@saleitchic hey there if you keep scrolling down, I answered the same question to twochicklets. Those are the only things I did different and I am having Sales every day.
rosemar357
@madonnabrewer
ccmerch
@poshing_panner exactly!
ccmerch
I prefer giving buyers reasonable offers than creating live shows because there are no viewers to purchase the items.
_chanelscloset
@hobby_shophaven agree!!!
highlandersgal
@poshing_panner I am not able to go live... I appreciate the new features but have not had any serious activity lately and feel shoppers are directed to live or promoted closets and not even getting to regular closets without promoting. Am I wrong?
yaketyyakp
@highlandersgal I have no desire to go live. Yes, my sales are slow too. I also accepted 4 offers this week and there was a payment problem that the buyer never fixed, so I didn’t get the sale.
realjerzgirl
I've tried different durations, times of day, different pricing approaches... Have had many semi-silent shows - two out of 5 shows were glitchy where I saw people coming in but I couldn't run the auctions! The 3 other shows... no one really came in and if they did then didn't buy. So, I don't know what to say, it does seem that people flock to the same shows over and over and don't come into ones that have only one other person in them. Also wish I knew why people flocked to my problem shows.
victorkat16
@shop_intherapy I agree may as well close the shop up!!
its_charmcity
sound!!! I need an acoustic sound. when someone bids.. up bids... wins.. has a question... when the auction ends without a winner... I need a guest list, who's active in the show..
its_charmcity
I think live shows have killed they market. people expect 3.00 starts my cog is much higher and with the fees it doesn't work.
suzitalent
I’m still unsure to do a show. Where do u list items on? How do you know who is in room.When u see run an item how do u do it?
Isn’t there someone in Jacksonville I can just watch. I know I’m making this harder than it is.
I really want to do live shows.
wingpin99
@shop_intherapy I’ve had the same experience! That is why I have stopped doing live shows.
roseisfierrce
@poshing_panner agree
blondie
@poshing_panner great idea!!!
twochicklets
@shop_intherapy thank you for answering. I might try these tips too. Thank you so much.
thedealmama
@lstarling01 (not my listing… but an excellent explanation by team posh!)
baglady386
@hobbyshopluxury I couldn’t agree more 15 seconds isn’t enough time but 60 seconds is way to long
frock_n_fashion
@yaketyyakp 💯
frock_n_fashion
@bbc760 I would love to have a cohost.
dhartman36
If I do a live show and only auction my own items is there a slideshow?
tinkerbelle_
@suzitalent hey if you go into the Poshmark page or even u tune there are videos they show you step by step how to set up your show etc . Happy to help if I can . Good luck
summershowersu
@yaketyyakp that's a good idea!
summershowersu
maybe having the option of a reserve price, so seller can auction an item but if the reverse is not meet the item does not under sell.
tonirich1700
I watched one show not understanding it was a contest I paid 200$ for an empty Hermes box . Never Watched one Again got ripped off !
frock_n_fashion
15 or 30 sec depending if there is a request to run.
fash4you
@yaketyyakp Agreed!
lindgrenlori
@yaketyyakp ❤️
marie_555
@tinkerbelle_ 👍🏼😊👍🏼
itsaposhibility
@yaketyyakp agreed, nor have time. it should be like a "silent auction".
itsaposhibility
@shop_intherapy I don't blame you!! not worth all the time it takes to package and drop it off to the post office just so not worth it.
francescagomez
@marlynshop great tip thank you
francescagomez
@cariparker amen
francescagomez
@kirin13 I agree
anabd4
I prefer 30 seconds! 🫶
julessv
@dhartman36 no, only if you select to do a silent show (no camera, no sound)
dhartman36
@julessv oh ok, thank you for responding 😊
julessv
@dhartman36 of course ☺️
meganposhmommy
@shop_intherapy agreed 1000%
xhristinaplace
@yaketyyakp i agree something like this should be an option
tarahscloset27
I've only done a few lives trying to get more comfortable. I have lots of listings so when I did do a live show I ran them for 30 seconds. Always love the comments and take what advice I can from experienced sellers. Thanks for all your comments.
sugarb96
@yaketyyakp Yess! I'd love that!
gmaiolini
@jessica_allego I totally agree with you. I was selling a lot more before the live actions. Now I get a lot of really low offers too.
gmaiolini
I was selling more before the live shows. I don't like going live and I feel like I'm being forced to do it because it's the "new thing". The forum is not setup like QVC or HSN shows. All the viewers see one action not multiple going on at the same time. I sold nothing my last 2 auctions and only had 3 to 6 people.
nataliecassano
@yaketyyakp agreeeed!
tara273
I prefer to run at 30 seconds but many hosts are now insisting on 15 seconds. Posh please stop setting it back to 30 seconds if I preset to 15 seconds in the tray. I have had hosts scold me for running too long when it’s really that posh overrode my 15 second choice.
delanecampbell
@shop_intherapy I appreciate your comment. Im interested in your changes. Ty Posh on.
delanecampbell
@esim71 I agree
delanecampbell
@shop_intherapy Great idea
delanecampbell
@marlynshop Thank you
shop_intherapy
@delanecampbell it’s so hard to keep up with all the changes on Poshmark. I guess we all try to do our best. Hopefully, we’ll have a good holiday season with sales
maririn7
I appreciate the recommendation, but unfortunately the auction system is just not worth the time and effort right now, so I'm just going with the normal procedure…maybe if I have more lot item I’ll try Thanks anyway💞
ginalove1984
@yaketyyakp LOVE your idea!!! 💖💖💖💖💖
dulcie_heim
@shop_intherapy couldn’t agree with you more!!! I have been live for almost two years, I pay for promoted closet weekly, and am bringing in new inventory daily! 11-15 viewers max, and many get kicked out and sent to other shows! As a full time seller it is frustrating. I love the 15 seconds for closet requests and 30 seconds for items being shown, if only I could get the traffic to actually bid.
shop_intherapy
@dulcie_heim I just recently started doing well. I tried at least to do lives again and it’s always the same hurdle. Can’t get them to bid higher past $3, what I’ve noticed that most of the people that shop the three dollar shows are reseller so that would explain it.
sparkclosetjoy
@hobbyshopluxury
sparkclosetjoy
@yaketyyakp agree . This is a great idea
clarissalove456
Thanks for sharing!!
kjdumont
@fancyboutiquee totally agree. Plus everyone wants $3 starts or they don’t buy! It’s really frustrating. You basically have to give your stuff away just to make a sale. It’s a viscous circle. No good.
kjdumont
@cariparker Totally Agree!
kjdumont
@tonirich1700 ouch! Sorry that happened to you.
lavatica
@yaketyyakp yes!!!!! 🙌🏻
mverdin79
@yaketyyakp yesses you took the words right out of my mouth
fashionbaubles
$3 starting sale price? What is it a dollar store?
jewelrybyvinnie
How do all of you get more traffic to your closets? I only have Pinterest for my social media , and I need some new ideas because I am only getting 1 to 5 sales a month and I am tired of it.
homeopathicmama
Unfortunately, devoting 4 hours of time to making zero sales has exhausted me. I'm sticking to the old-fashioned way. Thanks for the post!
renrayne131
@shop_intherapy I just started doing live shows about 3 weeks ago. My first couple shows I had a few viewers & now nothing. I’ve only been on maybe a total of 6 times. It seems so discouraging right now to even keep going?
shawonmoore
30 secs is a fair amount of time to auction things. Run it back after a few items if it hasn’t sold…
emmalyn0012
30 seconds sounds good for auctioning items. 15 seconds is good for show flyers to get attention of other Poshers to your show. 60 seconds sounds too much for auctioning items.
hotsells
@shop_intherapy thanks for sharing your experience. Your input is valuable!
shop_intherapy
@renrayne131 well that sucks, but you are right and boy or boy are they a lot of work! Quite honestly, I like doing that life shows because I get to engage with my regulars. Sometimes they make me laugh and they just make my day. I think it also has a lot to do if you are consistent the only problem with that is that if you’re not selling and you show all your stuff that you have that stuff left over nobody wants to see it again and another show
shop_intherapy
@renrayne131 let me know when you go live and I’ll hop in.
There has to be a way of getting more traffic. I know that a lot of people do advertising on social media. I started an Instagram and I’ve been posting there when I go live
shop_intherapy
@hotsells and thank you for your support. I wish we could figure out a way to make these shows work for everybody. 😊
renrayne131
@shop_intherapy Thanks! I always change up my stuff for every show! I think my problem is I do t have any regulars yet! I don’t know why? I don’t have an instagram account. Maybe I should look into setting one up? I go live Fridays at 11:30 & Sunday’s at 6. I would just like to get some people to come in & hang out even…lol
renrayne131
@shop_intherapy I wanted to interact with people which is why I started going live! But no one interacts with me
trtmelikealadi2
I can't understand how anyone can make a profit from auctions,most auctions I have visited seem to sell @ under $5. In my closet many low-ball down to less than $10. I'm losing money most times. - seller fees & whatever you have into an item are taken into consideration, I feel like auctions are for people that have larger inventory or can afford to pay people to take their stuff. PM gets theirs no matter what, please tell me how others are profiting?
shop_intherapy
@renrayne131 have you tried sending a mass message through the my shoppers feature? I send it out a few hours before the show and that always seems to help Sunday at six is a good time. I did a show last Sunday at that time and I did well.
hotsells
@yaketyyakp so true
chantellemcduff
@yaketyyakp agreed!
nancy990
@jessica_allego I agree. I sold more regularly before these shows started.
finewinevintage
I'm chicken! Lol. Thank you all for honest comments about how the shows are really going. I have stage fright so am trying to psyche myself up for it. But I think I would run items for 15 seconds first and then run the same items a second time for 30 seconds, or vice versa.
mythingzcloset
30 sec usually but silent shows need not be hidden. I have high anxiety but need sales. it's hard enough to get people in my actual lives
standoutstaples
@poshshowshub I prefer 30 sec.,unless it was a request - then 15 sec. 60 sec.is good only for Shows w/>than 100 viewers for low start items. I started doing Shows 2 yrs ago & did really good from the start, as they were not as crazy competitive as now (30-50 vs.300+ now) I wish Posh Show team would help new hosts by promoting/highlighting their shows better or sending their viewers to those hosts. For us who struggle would be great to highlight our shows in search, esp. for Share Show hosts
standoutstaples
On another note, I don’t want to give up on Shows, as I love this community like no other… And even considering that this post got 228 other likers, we might be able to help each other, have a @ list to attend each other’s shows or co-host together. Pls comment on my Show listing, if it sounds like a good idea to you 🥰 We can do this!
breezy8312
As I’m new to lives, I can only speak from the buyer’s perspective. I feel 15 seconds is too short, but 60 is too long… 30 seconds feels, just right!😂
tessofbklyn
@marlynshop how do you get to postermywsll?
tessofbklyn
@shop_intherapy I need someone to give me pointers. I am not doing well and don’t know how to go live. I love this discussion. Hearing all these comments helps me to feel I am not alone.
marlynshop
@tessofbklyn go to the websites postermywall.com and select create to create a flyer
tessofbklyn
@dodynkalea Me too!!!
shoesthatgirl
@yaketyyakp I agree!
irinaluxe
My favorite is 15 seconds it really makes sense when you know your value of the items you source #poshtips
neonbomb
@hobbyshopluxury I agree with this statement
neonbomb
@yaketyyakp yes I can totally see that
stayfly_resale
@ahemdarling same here, I have considered a silent show but I’ve notice they don’t get the same attention.
neonbomb
I would feel comfortable going live , , I need to be walked thru all steps to go live ! meaning after I set up , preselect items for show , am I supposed to use an iPad and phone to film? checklist , explanation whatever , !!! Because I select my first show , and then findI don’t know how ? To begin !! Is there a way to locate training ? Including here ? Do I need two devices ? Then how do I make the magic start ? Lol
yiannipa
It would be even better if you could auction your stuff directly in your closet for let’s say 3-5 days without having to do a live auction! Many people are just not comfortable with live auctions. You do not keep in mind that not everyone can talk like a beast ever spiker a front of camera. Please give them the other option to promote their store to public! We really need that!
eshopping4deals
@neonbomb it can seem overwhelming. The Posh Shows Knowledge Hub on the Posh Blog is what you’re looking for 😉
gmaiolini
@madonnabrewer I agree. they know it's new. they just don't care. I have the same issue.
marnielynn831
@shop_intherapy please share the secret? I need help
marnielynn831
@madonnabrewer I am in the same boat that you are a lot of my items are brand new tags so I have a hard time of letting go of these items at a very low price. Most of my items are items that I purchased for myself over the years and I just never wore them, but would put them away because I figured one day I will wear them. I have an addiction for shopping. Obviously, I struggle with letting go of these items at a super low price
marnielynn831
@secsquirrelmerc yes you are so right
sherrinmj
@yaketyyakp I totally agree. Also, some of us have physical disabilities and limitations that prevent us from doing live shows. I also don’t have anyone to help me.
michele182
@cariparker what is a cross listing app?
marnielynn831
@_deardarlene Darlene, don’t give up, honey. I think consistency is the key I’ve done a few shows and maybe sold three or four items, but I believe that if we are consistent scheduling our shows weekly that we would have more followers in our shows and that’s just my opinion I think this might help.
marnielynn831
@_deardarlene i’m following you Darlene. If you have another live, I will attend follow me and come to my live show. I’m having one on Saturday and it’s my first share show on November 9 at 3 o’clock.
sherrinmj
@yiannipa I agree.
marnielynn831
@hippiechicboho hi hippie chick I love your closet. I was just visiting it and it’s gorgeous. Don’t give up girl I think consistency is the key on doing these live shows.
yaketyyakp
@shop_intherapy like what kind of things?
yaketyyakp
@hippiechicboho me too.. I have added mine to some live shows too and have had no sales.
marnielynn831
@1fashionbliss oh my gosh your so right. I had a show last weekend and I finally said someone please answer me so I know this is working correctly and someone finally dead but it is awkward when you’re talking and a party setting with only four or five people, but no one’s responding.
marnielynn831
@shop_intherapy can you please elaborate on this. I have no clue what you’re talking about but I could use some help for sure.
yaketyyakp
@kirin13 I think they are catering to big sellers or luxury item sales. Even Free People is on here.
michele182
@cottagegifts are you willing to coach?
cottagegifts
@michele182 Just tag me when you do a show & I can try to help!
marnielynn831
@neonbomb amazing closet
marnielynn831
@stayfly_resale your closet is amazing. You should do lives.
michele182
@cottagegifts ok…thank you!
michele182
@marnielynn831 I have done some silent shows but have not sold anything …I almost have the courage to go live. I am gathering info and will work on implementing a live show soon. Thanks for your kind words!
longlegedkitkat
I do not think any item should run for $3. The minimum should be raised to at least $10 because posh takes 20%.
rebel_revival
@yaketyyakp amen!
rebel_revival
@cariparker yes, agreed
hlhudja
are there shared shows where someone else auctions the items for you
takealookcloset
@yaketyyakp agree
club33mousekter
@ahemdarling Hey there i can't be seen cause if my job but I do a silent show with Music so they can hear me n some tunes, but I keep the camera off. try it, it might work for you.

poshvegasvip
Awesome. Thanks @Poshmark & @manishc
malaikaom1
I want to bring up the position of the bid button. we have all had to buy things because our dingers accidentally hot it. it's highway robbery and needs to be a swipe to buy like on WN or completely relocated to a less inconvenient location. That's all Thank you
ciffaq
@yaketyyakp agree
shelb6666
The time I run, an item depends on how complicated the item is the more complicated the longer time I need so that I can be shown properly. Don’t undersell your items you payed a good price then you pay posh,shipping& tax! Remember when someone is starting bids at $3 they make 5-cents! after paying posh!!
I try to go on peoples lives and interact.
It’s hard talking to yourself for hours so say hello 👋‼️❤️
shelb6666
Tell them that you like the item or it’s not for you, joke with them. share the items out‼️Especially if it’s a share show. I find that I get a lot of customers by sharing their item. The effort you put out you get back, create sales for you and for other closets! If you stop by my show or closet say hello 👋‼️❤️
sunshine32991
@madisonstmarket Just in case nobody answered, a promoted closet gives a greater percentage of money to Poshmark. In a live show, you get the usual percentage of your sales, and nothing is variable unless you decide to change what you are offering, like a lower start, or lower shipping.
There is also the silent show option.
Sunshine 💜☀️💜
syedaain22
Love this information thank you
🙏🏻
rockintherack
@yaketyyakp yes some people are camera shy and lose out bc they are afraid to be in front of camera so I invite poshgalz to cohost with me or be my “chat monitor” that way you’ll or whomever will feel comfortable ( like myself lol ) having someone workin with me 😘😘so if you’d like to try let me know 😘😘😘💖💕💖
yaketyyakp
@rockintherack I am not shy, I don’t like the whole sitting there watching one item at a time, when I can search and find what I am interested in. I don’t have the patience to do that and don’t want you to spend the time either.
rockintherack
@yaketyyakp I know what ur sayin tho ive found that people sell thier items the cheapest in an auction like I never saw a LV in great shape go for $100 until auctions came and I just recently got a LV wallet for $20 (authentic) so im guessing thats why people go to auction
belinda363
Love it yes tomorrow I’m going to do an auction life action. Thank you. I love this.
maemae2518
I want to do the free gift in my auctions ? How do I do that ?
marymcglen
@shop_intherapy on $3 they make 5cent
late_bloomers_
@malaikaom1 they did swipe to bid, for a brief time maybe a year or more ago. I’m not sure why it didn’t last but I think people complained it took too long? I wondered why it went away suddenly.
neatrepeats
@secsquirrelmerc I agree with this seller. I sell my families personal items. I am not a business nor reseller. I have made it to a Posh Ambassador level and have conducted many shows myself with 0 sales. My closet is already priced cheap, according to brands and condition of my items and after seller fees are paid, I am clearing near nothing on each sale. I quite having auctions
cocopuff239
@yaketyyakp Agree!
t_rellascloset
@hippiechicboho I’ve never heard of putting your whole closet on sale.
t_rellascloset
@shop_intherapy How do you use the shopper feature?
hippiechicboho
@marnielynn831 Thank you so much!! I’m not ready to give up yet!!💕
hippiechicboho
@t_rellascloset You put out a message to all of your people that interact with your closet, saying that everything in your closet is , say, 30% off. Then I post posters saying the same thing. Then I share the poster every so often. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes I feel like I’m invisible!!!🫥
franchescaa089
🤩🤩🤩💥
t_rellascloset
@hippiechicboho Thank you for responding! 🥰 Where do you put out the message? I’ve never heard of this. I feel like PM could do a better job at educating the sellers. I wish they had quick videos or tutorials to help. If we win they win. Other platforms do a better job at this.
lilyco22
@shop_intherapy I agree. The whole process takes alot of time to list and manage and I can't compete with so many $3 sales.
shop_intherapy
@lilyco22 have you done$3-$10 sale? Those might be better, 😃
hippiechicboho
@t_rellascloset Just go into your my shoppers tab on your main menu page. Go to the bottom and it says My Shoppers. You can click View All and then make sure they all have a check mark next to them. Then it gives you choices of what you want to do. You pick message shoppers and it lets you write a post and when you are done just click post and it will go thru and post to all of your shoppers!!
lilyco22
@shop_intherapy Its all a huge time commitment. I've tried a few times but I just don't have the time to spend hours on a negative return when I'm already giving so much away. I don't feel motivated to do a live show when I see so many that are selling items at $3.
cher4r
@fancyboutiquee me too
cher4r
@shop_intherapy I love doing live shows but the merchandise is hard to sell unless designer or brand name. I've started doing jewelry shows off camera where I just display the items
shop_intherapy
@lilyco22 you’re right, it’s a lot of work. I try to focus more on listing then doing to many lives, but doing the lives does bring more traffic to your closet though.
I’ve had a busy November so far.
shop_intherapy
@cher4r that’s awesome! You will do great November through December, I sold just fashion jewelry shows last year, and even silent shows did well, of only jewelry 😀 I hope you sell out. People buy jewelry a lot during the next few months
mamabebo
@shop_intherapy I agree I’m with you.
usa_patriot
30 second (SNIPER AUCTIONS) are too short, it's so fast you can't think or even click.
⏰️Wish the options were 60sec, 90sec, and 120sec.
myyesteam
@shop_intherapy That's what hurts us sellers. It's like this place has turned thrift store pricing. way too many $3 $5 & $7 offers on items worth more..
The quality and brands don't matter. If I sell something for $7, there is no profit in that, and the promotion program seems to be a scam. I spent $40 and made $50!
myyesteam
@cariparker me either

@marlynshop me either
