Hi, the jewelry box is in brand new condition. I had it on top of my dresser with a few pieces of sentimental jewelry in it and I maybe opened the drawers twice. There are no scratches anywhere. There are two tiny spots on the side where the black paint didn't get all the way into the nail holes (you can see in the side view picture), but it came like that and I had never even noticed until just now when I looked at it to make sure I could give you an honest answer. It would make a nice gift
