Made in Nepal, this pastel beige classic PORTOLANO scarf is 70% Cashmere Pashmina and 30% Silk. Pashmina wool is known for its exceptional softness, warmth, and lightweight nature, perfect for use in all seasons. All shawls produced with this fine wool are called Pashmina shawls. Beige is a universal neutral color and this lovely Pashmina can be worn as a scarf, wrap or shawl.
The slogan on their official websites is "KEEPING PEOPLE WARM AND FASHIONABLE SINCE 1895".
Pashmina is specifically derived from the fine hairs of the Changthangi goat.
The usual way to wear a pashmina is the classic drape. To do that simply drape the pashmina evenly over your shoulders and let the ends hang down your front. This effortless style works well with casual and formal outfits. Many women also like to let one end hang down in front and toss the other end over that same shoulder. Worn this way the pashmina helps keep cool air off the front of your body.
I can tell you this shawl is wonderfully soft and that it wraps well around your body, your arms or your neck.
The could be worn many ways, only a few of which are shown in the photos.
There are 4 inches of self fringe at both ends of this scarf.
Freshly clean, this scarf comes from a smoke-free, pet-free home and is in Excellent Vintage condition.
It is free of tears, snags, rips, odors or anything offensive that would keep you from wearing and enjoying this Portolano shawl for many years to come.
