Vintage Depression Era Blue Lustreware Iridescent Teapot Made in Japan Great used condition! No chips. Manufacturing dlaw in finish on one side. Label residue on the bottom. See photos for details. Measures aprox 4 1/2" wide 4 3/4" long Lustreware is a type of ceramic painted with an iridescent metallic pigment over a glaze. It was initially used to decorate glass in Iraq, where it originated in the 10th century. Most Japan lustreware was imported from the mid-1920s to the end of the 1930s.
