Rare Mid-19th Cent. English Hand-Coloured Engraving in Orig Gilt Shadowbox Frame

Antique circa 1850. Hand-coloured engraving of two of the native magnificent Brazilian hummingbirds, trochilus magnificus. Excellent condition, devoid of flaws, nor foxing. Beautifully coloured by hand in the mid-19th century. Framed in a shadow box frame consistent of the period. After John Gould, from the Omithological Illustrations. Original 19th century Gilt Border Shadow Box Frame adds value but does not accompany the appraised value of the double print.
