This is a real jewel preserved to perfection. This is a tiny alarm clock that can be used at your bedside or carried when you travel as an alarm clock. Van Cleef & Arpels partnering with Concord Watch Company who created this fabulous 17 jewel mechanical watch movement known as a #344. It was quite usual in those days for Haute Jewelers such as Van Cleef & Arpels and Tiffany & Co to turn to Concord to provide quality movements for their high-end watches and clocks since that was not their forte' at the time. In this case, the design and placement of the parts were done by VCA artisans. In this case, it was decided to have a ring as a stand and when the customer traveled, the clock lays flat into the ring! It is very easy to set as well. You use one button to wind the watch to its current time. The other button is to set the alarm. To turn off the alarm, there is a tiny button on the back you push. A lovely message by the previous owner has been engraved on the case back "Beyond Time". How lovely. I had the watch serviced at Van Cleef & Arpels NY last year (they completely took it apart, cleaned, oiled and adjusted the clock and reassembled) so it runs as good as new. This beautiful tiny clock is only 1 inch in diameter, including the ring it is 1.5". It is a real treasure. It will come to you in a Van Cleef & Arpels pouch.
