These were my mother’s, stored in a closet in our basement: 4 completely-full Quick Saver books; 5 partially-filled books; 3 smaller partially-filled books, and a reward catalog from 1981. Extra stamps, too, all unredeemed. All in great vintage condition.
S&H Green Stamps were an extremely popular retail reward program in the U.S. from the 1930s to the 1980s—their heyday was in the 60s-70s. You’d accumulate trading stamps every time you shopped at a particular grocery, gas, or department store; then, when you had enough saved, you could redeem them for brand-name goods found in their catalog and/or redemption store. Store loyalty in the US has steadily lost appeal since the 80s…and there is talk that this successful program may come back!
