A Colorful Journey, Grey ('ähinahina) Watercolor painting by Alessandra Jann-Jordan, AJJARTS.com. I painted this children's book illustration for A Colorful Journey, written by my husband Ignacio Fleishour. The guided meditation is based on teachings from his Kiowa-Apache upbringing and presents that life can be analogous to a voyage on a canoe; the children's book imparts a way to see the world and the many colors, representations and things we can learn from our environment and people, and conveys environmental conservation ideas. In the publication, children learn words for colors in Hawaiian and English. An excerpt from the book on the color Grey ('ähinahina): "Even it the clouds seem dark and scary we should remember that the clouds and the earth give us water as a gift from the sky so that all life on earth can survive."
