A one-of-kind choker

This piece is unique to say the least. It is a bronze/brass type metal, not shiny or polished but an aged bronze look and 16 1/2 inches long. The piece is fairly light weight but looks heavy. I believe it is a piece from India because it has the common features of their cultural style. As shown in the one photo circled in yellow, one of the small balls is missing. There are two of the same size balls on either side and at the top back of the choker, and one could be used without any noticeable issue. This piece came to me from my mothers collection in 2007. She collected vintage jewelry and I know the piece is old.
