POSSIBLY VINTAGE DARK-TAN OR MEDIUM-BROWN 2-PIECE SUIT, JACKET & MATCHING SKIRT, ADOLPH SCHUMAN FOR LILLI ANN. Gently pre-owned, exc. cond. No label for size, measurements consistent with size 12 or 14. Ultrasuede label in skirt coming unsewn on left side, small faint stain on inner lining upper right side (picture #8), very tiny spots on backside of skirt near bottom right side (picture #6), otherwise no defects or damage, little sign of wear. At a distance, the color appears to be a solid medium brown or dark tan, but up close it's seen to have a pattern of faint mottling in a slightly lighter shade (picture #6). The jacket has notched sleeve ends, padded shoulders, a collar and peak lapels, pockets in the upper right and lower front, and a 1-button closure in front. The skirt is slim-line (pencil). with a partial elastic waistband ( a 5" length on each side), a button and zipper in back, and an 8" slit bottom rear center. Each piece is fully lined in lustrous fabric about the same color as the outer ultrasuede fabric. Since the size is not know, we'll have to go by the measurements. Please compare them with those of a jacket and skirt that you know ft well. Measurements for the jacket are: chest, pit to pit 23"; no waist measurement, it flares slightly to the hemline, which measures 24"; shoulder 18.5"; sleeve 25.5"; length (in back, collar seam to hem) 27.5". Measurements for the skirt are: waist 15.25", stretches to about 16.5"; hips 21"; hemline 23.25"; length 31".

mrhodesbigmike I'm calling this suit "possibly vintage" because the people running the estate sale where I acquired it told me it belonged to their late mother who had had it "as far back as they could remember," which was about 50 years. I have only their word for this, and no way to verify. I'm calling the size 12 or 14 because it's too big for my regular-size mannequin, who wears sizes 4 to 8 or 10 well, and not big enough for my plus-size mannequin, who is comfortable in size 16.
