The denim corset is a masterpiece, sewn with metal whalebone inserts to mold your body into a curving heart-shape, with contrast topstitching to further highlight the curves of the body. The main fabric is a Japanese-style denim, with metal post details that hold the Napa lambskin leather straps. The corset is fringed around the top in black cotton lace. The closure is by heavy duty steel post-and-eye. The care and attention to detail is truly awe-inspiring. The corset is also fully lined in cotton for comfort - but make no mistake, this is a very serious corset, not a bustier that is modeled to look like a serious corset. The attached skirt is simple - elasticated waistband attached to the corset, two layers of finely pleated fine cotton, tipped off in beautiful black lace. The dress does have belt loops but was purchased without a belt. NOTE ON SIZING: This dress was designed before McQueen changed its sizing patterns, so it is marked as a rare 46 IT / US 12. It is cut to a standard that would now be considered a 40 IT or 42 IT / US 6-8.
