I have fought Endometriosis and Adenomyosis much of my adult life. In 2016, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 DIE (Deep Infiltrating Endometriosis) by an amazing OB/Gyn. She was fearless and experienced; she listened and advocated for me. Many Endometriosis patients do not get heard. Although Endo is a rampant disease that affects 1-10 women (and sometimes men), it usually takes 8-10 years to get diagnosed. The gold standard to fighting this disease is to cut it out--by wide excision laparoscopic surgery.
Thanks to this doctor, I had surgery and, after changing my eating habits and lifestyle, went into regression. We were able to get pregnant and had our wonderful daughter!
This last year, I found out the terrible news: Endometriosis had returned and fused my organs together. We were infertile, and the quality of my life completely tanked. I'm in pain every day. But I don't give up.
I found a nationally renowned Endometriosis Specialist and am scheduled for wide excision surgery! Afterwards, we are on track for IVF. It's been a long, painful road, but my family's life is blooming with hope. --Of course, all this--though medically necessary--is expensive. This surgery will not just remove pain, it will remove the disease and change my very life.
All proceeds from my closet will go to Endometriosis Surgery and IVF. Thank you so much for supporting me and for helping to save my life.

Hi, who is your well known excision surgeon? Thank you so much for posting.

@nanjosephine Hi! I saw Dr. Andrew Cook at Vital Health Endometriosis Center in Durango, CO. He’s been a surgeon something like 30 years, and he used to be in CA. Thank you for sharing my post! 💗

@_3es_ Thanks and of course!

@nanjosephine Gladly! 💕 I don’t know what I would have done without Dr. Cook and this surgery. May I ask: do you have endometriosis or someone you know?
nanjosephine
@_3es_ I do! Just had excision surgery 2 weeks ago.

@nanjosephine Endo Sister! First off, I’m so sorry this happened to you. Congrats on your surgery! How are you feeling??

@_3es_ Thank you. Likewise! I’m feeling good. Post op appt today. It’s still on my diaphragm and bowel. I have silent endo - not a lot of pain! It’s so weird! But I am experiencing infertility. Whew, tough stuff! How are you feeling?

@nanjosephine Ugh! So tough. How did post-op appt go? I’m struggling through rehab—I’ve had much nerve damage and muscle atrophy. Honestly, tired of being in pain and also thankful to be on this side of surgery. 💛
