nonesuchmarket @starmz123 Hello again, Miranda! Ok ... the elastic inside the back waistband is entirely lined with button holes, so you have a great deal of flexibility! My daughter never needed to tighten the pants; unfortunately, they were too small for her from the get-go! I pulled the waist down to 10" (could even get it smaller).This translates to more gathering below the back waistline. Because it is a loose, palazzo style, the extra gathering blends in quite nicely. Front panel always remains flat.

nonesuchmarket @starmz123 Hi, Miranda! I will see if I can track down a model photo. I gave the pants to my daughter as a gift, as she really loved American Girl! As a result, she didn't try them on prior to the purchase and, unfortunately, they were a bit snug. I will search for a catalogue image and will be in touch again! In the meantime, have a super day!
