pawprint20 This item is a reproduction, not an authentic antique. The RS stamp on this piece was commonly used in reproductions in the late 20th century.

lechateaugris @pawprint20 Im not certain what makes you an expert on antiques.Although I know I am not an expert. Please let me share with you the definition of an antique according to Wikipedia: An antique (from Latinantiquus 'old, ancient') is an item perceived as having value because of its aesthetic or historical significance, and often defined as at least 100 years old (or some other limit), although the term is often used loosely to describe any object that is old.[1]

lechateaugris @pawprint20 Continuing, I would like to share with you the history of Reinhold & Schlegelmilch, known by this mark R&S. Reinhold and Schlegelmilch, who were not related, had their own separate factories in Suhl. They were fierce competitors. In 1869, Reinhold Schlegelmich established a factory in Suhl, Germany. In 1893, Reinhold began exporting dinnerware to the United States. When the U.S. Tariff Act of 1894 lowered the duties on decorated porcelain, Reinhold increased their exportation.
