Description:
A Victorian wedding bracelet from 1879 that features an *Etruscan design with an etched rectangular gold filled piece on the front and gold filled finials at the end of each of the brass hinged pieces. It is hinged in the front, and the ends overlap. This antique bracelet expands at the hinge to be worn and then closes onto the wrist. The design on the front of this vintage bangle is a swan on the raised rectangle. The swan is framed with an etched border all around the rectangle.
The bracelet is engraved with a Patent notation with the date of December 16, 1879 on the back of the front rectangular piece.
*Etruscan revival jewelry was inspired by archaeological digs in Italy in the second half of the 19th century. This type of jewelry was especially popular during a revival in the Etruscan style that took place in the 1860s‑1870s.
Total weight is 13.8 grams.
