DESCRIPTION: This is a precious and authentic Confidents Des Coeurs (“Confidants of Hearts”) vintage silk scarf that was bought in Paris. From Hermes’ Fall-Winter 2000/01 Collection, the scarf was designed by artist, Loic Dubigeon. The teddy bear motif is best described by Hermes’ scarf booklet, as follows: “Around 1895 in Stuttgart, a certain Richard Steiff, who had to draw bears in the zoo, undertook to make some into fur toys. Two Americans were so charmed by this imitative that they ordered 3000 copies of his creation for the fair at Leipzig. One of the teddies in this scarf was the bosom friend of a charming octogenarian, whose express wish was to have it buried with her.” The silk scarf, with hand rolled edges, measures approximately 16”x 16”.
