Condition: very good condition, slight wear and scratches Description; The boomerang is made from fine native hardwood, with excellent form. It looks like a fine returning boomerang (although I haven't tested it). The design was etched into the wood. This method of decoration was used on boomerangs in the 1930s that were offered to travelers and tourists as decorative items and encouraged by the monks of Yalata Mission to generate cash for the local native population. This piece came into my collection with two others, one of which was dated 1931 in pencil on the back. This item is from my collection of Aboriginal Transitional Boomerangs (Tourist Trade).
