A wider midsole improves stability over the previous model while still being light and efficient. Carbon rods extend the length of the shoe to propel runners forward and the upper has been reengineered to be lighter and more breathable. The midsole is a double layer of LightstrikePRO foam that cushions landings and provides lightweight energy return. EnergyRods 2.0 are carbon fiber tubes that extend the length of the shoe to improve rigidity and increase propulsion. A pull tab on the heel increases the ease of entry into the shoe. The upper is as light and thin as possible without losing a snug fit and secure lockdown. The adizero Adios Pro 3 continues to build upon the core principles of the first two models and makes incremental changes to maintain an extremely efficient marathon racing shoe.
