Though the Supernova Glide 5 is a straightforward cushioned training shoe, it boasts a number of solid stability features including an independent crash pad and beveled heel where the foot makes initial contact, and a plastic shank for added support in the midfoot. The upper's fit has been improved by lowering the collar; testers of the previous model had complained about rubbed ankles, but not one did with this updated version. BOTTOM LINE: A durable training shoe that's as well suited for high mileage as for easy recovery runs.
