Gypsy bohemian statement necklace! It is a vintage ethnic, Afghan tribal necklace. Done in the traditional Hazara style, the necklace features several vintage coins bearing Middle Eastern writing. The coin are accented by a brass colored bow shaped link that is set with red jewels. A little pendant hangs down with a hand painted traditional black pattern. This slips over your head. The necklace has its original, heavy aged patina. Please keep in mind that most Kuchi and Turkoman / Turkmen / Turkomen items are old and used items with a distinct aged patina. They are a nomadic Afghan people who have created amazing jewelry for centuries. Their colorful jewelry combines new, old, metal, beads, coins, stones and fabric. Many pieces are worn due to being used from every day wear, tribal celebrations, belly dance and wedding uses. They are made with a coin-base metal alloy.
