African Fabric (Repurposed) Necklace

This necklace is made from an upcycled African Fabric necklace that was given to me by one of my artist associates in Montana. The neck parts had been broken and I salvaged the fabric discs and balls and restrung them with new glass beads and a clasp. There are five inches of ankara cloth discs in golds, greens, yellow and purples in the middle of the neckline. They are spaced back to three round balls on each side of the necklace with the same fabric. The neckline continues with Czech gold colored and green colored twisted rectangle glass beads up to the clasp. The necklace is strung on 49 wire ply coated beading wire for fluidity and drape. The Czech glass purple and green round beads have an AB coating on them which gives them a reflective sheen. The necklace is 25 inches long and secures with a verde gris brass toggle clasp. The necklace is unusual and one of a kind. My pieces arrive in a gift box with my card ready for gift giving or as a special treat for yourself.
