Dendritic Agate is a translucent, white, light gray and/or yellow variety of Chalcedony/Quartz, easily identified by its unique brown to black tree branch and fern-like markings know as “dendrites”. Dendrite is a Greek word for “tree-like”, and these inclusions are actually traces of manganese or iron that seep into the stone during its formation creating not only branch-like features, but also spotted or dark clusters. This is a larger piece that can still be held in the palm of your hand.
