The skirt is tight but stretchy, so I'd say it could easily pass for a medium but it technically is a size large. The general style is a tighter fitting skirt, not like the ones you typically buy.

FYI, I'm 5'8" about 140 lbs. I tried the medium and it was not as comfortable as they large, so I got that one. But in the end, I found a whole 'nother suit that was better for me at my age!
