Alexis Kirk 1980s Rare Brass and Leather Beaded Necklace

Rare statement necklace created by Alexis Kirk, circa 1980s. Necklace is comprised of brass beads strung on leather and measures 18" wearable neck length and has a 7" long by 5.5" pendant. Unsigned and in very good vintage 1980s condition. There is original patina present on brass elements particularly at welded locations, which add to the authentic quality of the craftmanship. Alexis Kirk often used exotic woods, pewter, and plastic alongside more conventional metals and stones in silhouettes based on organic human and animal shapes, in addition to mystical, occult, and ethnic influences. Cher, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, the Duchess of Windsor wore his statement pieces during the 1980s.
