thestylingroom @enaywan hi Annie! Due to the extra spacing in the cups, the gown doesn't lay completely flat; think about how a bra is when trying to lay it flat. That being said, I did lay it as flat as I could and measured strictly from armpit to armpit (not taking into account the extra space in the cups), it measured approx 34". I also measured where the ivory meets the black and it was approx 31".

thestylingroom @enaywan I did look up the Alfred Angelo size chart online and found the following info...recommended measurements for their classic fit size 10 are bust: 37", waist: 28", and hip: 39.5" (these are your recommended for your body measurements, not the garment's measurements). thestylingroom @enaywan hi Annie! I purchased this with the intention of having it altered to fit me, but never got around to it. I'm a 32D and usually a size 00/0 in gowns, so unfortunately I can't be of much help comparing the fit on myself :/. If you want to tell me your bust and waist measurement, I can measure my black mannequin and see how it fits on there in comparison for you! I no longer have the first pictured mannequin. Lmk :)

angelblueeyes81 I am interested in purchasing this dress for a formal dinner. I was reading the above comments and i think the size of this dress will be perfect. Does it look possible to have cups sewed in? Also i see that the top is satin and i was wondering if the bottom is the same way? Thank you

thestylingroom @angelblueeyes81 hey Laura! It's a poly/cotton mix, but the finish of the fabric is semi satin or demi-Matte finish, so it's not super shiny like a true satin finish, but not completely flat like most cotton fabrics. It has that elegant finish to it :).

thestylingroom @angelblueeyes81 There is light boning to keep the dress held up and shaped, but a seamstress should easily be able to tack cups or padding into the chest if needed. My recommendation would be to have them open the seam and put the cups between the lining and top layer. I always had that done in my pageant gowns and it made the fit more comfortable :).
