Alfred Meakin Birds of America Plate, 1940s, England, Audubon, Cedar Bird, #43 Lovely English pottery plate from 1941 with a beautiful transfer print of the "Cedar Bird", plate #43 in the Audubon series. It shows a pair of birds perched in a Cedar tree. The plate is a creamy white color, glazed, with an embossed floral design around the edge. Stamped on the bottom "Alfred Meakin England, Plate # 43, Reproduced from the Elephant Folio Edition of Audubon's Birds of America, National Audubon Society, Cedar Bird, Bombycilla Carolinensis" This is the luncheon plate, measuring about 9 inches across. In very good vintage condition with no chips or cracks, it does have a bit of crazing due to age, and a couple of small manufacturer blemishes on the back which was common in pottery from this age. See photos for condition details. Please see my listings for the other plates in this series. I have seven altogether. Please message me for bundle discounting. Features: • Vintage, Made in England, Birds, Bird Lover Gift • Made in England Measurements: Width 9 in / 23 cm Condition: Pre-Owned Good
