Yes it is ivory not grey. There is pilling just given the nature of the fabric (see pictures 3 and 4)

If you want them tighter they will be good. If you want more roomy might be tight. The Alo site says
“Fit:Designed for a roomy, relaxed look—size down if you prefer a closer fit”
