@shastinawalsh i feel your pain girl. I tore my acl and rolled my kneecap into the back of my leg when i was 17. 18 months on crutches, surgery and physical therapy... Work hard hard if your doing PT. If not, seriously see one. They are crucial to knee Recovery's! Lol

@shastinawalsh what happened to yours?

@ganjaprincess22 one of the muscles in the quadriceps is called the VMO. It is what holds the knee cap (patella) in place. My VMO in both knees is too long, so my knee caps have always veered to the outside of my leg instead of nestling in between the femur and tibia. I dealt with on going issues for about 3 years and one day I went for a simple, easy, relaxing walk. By the time I hobbled back home, my knee was the size of a grapefruit. I ended up having surgery (chondroplasty and patellar realignment) about 8 weeks later. My ortho doc ended up removing about 1/2 the cartilage on the bottom side of my patella before cutting away an 1" from my VMO and reattaching it to my patella again with anchors. It was incredibly painful, really tough recovery, and extremely limiting. I was in the hospital for 3 1/2 days, couldn't bend my knee or put ANY weight on it for 2 weeks, and my PT outlook was 12 weeks. I worked my tail off and could fully bend my knee to 182 degrees (only 2 degrees shy of what I could bend prior to the surgery) and was back to work in 8. There's no way I would be functioning properly without PT! I'm a surgical tech so it was hard being on the opposite side of things!! I just don't wear heels or really tall wedges because I'm not willing to screw up my $50,000 knee job!!! I hope your knee is better, ACL/PCL/MCL injuries are terrible! From what I understand your ligaments are never the same after that.
