American Apparel “Patriot Blue Ombré” Pleated Tennis Skirt

Original American Apparel, bought new, made in America. Blue ombré dots on white pleated tennis skirt, going from navy blue to a lighter azure like color. Iconic design. I wore this to London in 2016, with stockings in black pointy shoes, and received many complements. For how short it is, the skirt is surprisingly fun and classy, and lasts summer to fall. Lots of reproductions out there since, but this is the original. Condition like-new, as shown. The fabric is summery, but not see through. The waist cuff is stiff, perfect if you are 22-23”, can fit 24. ORIGINAL SIZE XS but know that old AA XS mostly fits like today’s XXS. I have many more AA skirts and I’ve just been holding on to this one. For more AA deadstock see my closet. From storage, one pleat can use some ironing (edit: I ironed it! It’s beautiful and crisp now) ———————— FYI if you don’t yet have an old AA skirt, their stitching makes the pleats last very long, not the flying up kind in the current markets. The AA pleats stay draped, not spread out or puffed out. If you like the look, this is perfect for you, because ugh who has time and space for IRONING!??? I suspect it has to do with the alignments, where the pleat stitches go to your hip.
