American Counting Machine Counter
Antique, Metal, Weighs 3 lbs 13 oz
Patented November 16, 1897
The American Counting Machine antique counter is an early analog computer. This specific piece worked counting each copy of a printing press' movement for Northern Illinois newspaper The Amboy News. This general model was also used in factories to keep track of workers' and machine progress.
Fully functional, the counters turn, the lid opens, the springs are all working. There is some light texture on the top of the metal housing and a cool patina. Please see video to see it working.
