Meet Felicity Merriman, a spunky, spritely nine-year-old girl who lives in Williamsburg, Virginia, Colonial America, 1774, just before the Revolutionary War. Felicity’s family were Patriots, they believed that America should be it’s own country, not an English Colony. Felicity’s best friend Elizabeth’s family were Loyalists who believed they should be loyal to the King of England. When Elizabeth’s Father is thrown in jail for being a Loyalist, Felicity has to find a way to help out Elizabeth and her Father. Can Felicity and Elizabeth remain friends even though they are on opposite sides?
